I can't figure out how to get into the contact tab so I can request to dock. I have not played in a very very long time and I'm stuck in space. I can open the navigation screen but I can't get to the top to scroll over to the contact tap. I'm an old fart. maybe my age is just catching up with me..sorry for the stupid question.

left panel (1), then tab over to the contacts tab on the right (e).
Above I gave what I remember should be default keybinds.
Ordinarily you'd have buttons on your HOTAS/controller for manipulating the UI.One for moving around in the current tab, one for selecting things and 2 more for moving forwards/backwards through the tabs on the current panel.

Make sure the station at which you want to dock is highlighted on the left column, then arrow over to the right column where "Request Docking" should be highlighted:
Then:
Once you hit <space> to send the request, you will be given a pad upon which to land. If you are using a docking computer, it will take over at this point. If not, it's a manual process.
Note: don't worry about my screens being all blue
Unless you, like me, are using a colour mod, your stuff will be the default retina-burning orange.
