Horizons Help, I've, um, mislaid my ship...

So I've landed at a settlement and taken the SRV out for a spin, but I can't find my ship again.

Am I missing something in the UI that shows you where you ship is?

(I can't just summon it because it's actually in a hangar somewhere...).

Thanks!

Just a bit more info - your ship goes into orbit (because programming/complex maths issues and computing power) if you go so far away from it. It's safe but you have to recall it.

If you park on a planet (not in dock) and drive away you can see it leaving after so long. Actually this might happen even if docked I just haven't tried that.

Personally I would avoid doing any of the non-game play actions to recover. Part of the fun is that you got lost. Logging into non Horizons to recover is a bit like combat logging.

I really hope the Commander who resurrected this post doesn't think the OP has been aimlessly driving around for nearly 4 years looking for his ship .....
If that’s the case, he’s beaten Mark Watney quite handily.

On a related note, a good while back I recall hearing that someone recalled their ship at a terrestrial port, only to have it shot down for trespassing/pad loitering. Is that still a thing?

I think reopening this, if anything, just muddies the waters given that this is specifically about driving round a planetary outpost. Post #2 already has the OPs answer.

You really got to this post from 2015 just in time.
