Help. Legal Issues, 0 Notoriety, 700cr Galaxy Wide bounty

Hello,

I didn't know where else to raise this and hope someone can help. I've just started replaying Elite after an extended break. Have put in about 100 hours of play but now I have an issue.

I have for the first time started landing on planets, mining, etc. Suddenly I have 'Legal Issues' on my modules and I can't do much more with the game. I noticed my notoriety is 0, I have a galaxy wide bounty of 700cr (I think I shot down a drone or scanned a data point), but I don't have any fines to pay.

What do I need to do to get playing again?

Have you visited an interstellar factors? Thats where you pay bountys (fines as well) but galaxy wide can only be paid there.

Don't change ships or swap modules!

Just make sure you go there in the ship you incurred the bounty ( with any modules)...
otherwise you'll have hot modules issues and it will cost a lot more to clean them

Thank you all for your help. That was what I was missing and now I've cleared my name. Had to 'clean module' a few times but all good now.
