Help me decide if a Vive is right for me.

I'm not a fan of FaceBook either. But I did plump for the Oculus CV1 seeing as it is a better fit for Elite. It was a difficult decision for me as the roomscale stuff does look fun.

I do not have a FaceBook account and I've not been asked for one either. It is true that Oculus does have my name and address that the headset was delivered to, but luckily for anyone more security concious than me... you will soon be able to buy Oculus headsets from GAME (or whatever Electronics Boutique is calling themselves nowadays).

No matter of how you ship/buy it.
You registered credit/debit card with your account unless of course you never ever ever want to buy an oculus exclusive.

Oh I see. Well I'm not a fan of Facebook, got it but hardly ever log in. My plan with the rift, should it ask me to sign in to Facebook, is create a Billy no mates account especially for it.

I've never had a FB account because I consider them a disgusting company. Never had a Whatsapp account either. Oddly enough, FB will soon receive my phone number from any of my family members, friends and business contacts - potentially everyone I ever had a call with during the past 20 years now using Whatsapp.

They redirect liability to the individual member consenting to Whatsapp terms, which they usually do without being aware they actually commit a criminal action in the process due to violating any of their contacts privacy rights.

FB is the third wave on a global scale.

Anyway - this is getting OT, so I'll rest my case.

Enjoy VR :).
