Powerplay Help me, I am conflicted.

Once upon a time I really cared about Powerplay and my pledge to Winters.

Now long unpledged, I find myself still firmly a fed but utterly disinterested in PP itself. Let us face it. It's a total shower.

That aside.

Dilemma. In my search for Fed things to do, I'm thinking PP pledge tags are excellent PvP flags. Whether pledges know it or not, I'm leaning towards the view that if they signed up, and are effectively in opposition to the federation, it is your duty to pew pew whenever you come across them. No matter whether in fully engineered corvette or naked hauler.

What do you think? PP tag is shoot me invite? For "RP" reasons. ;)

They clicked Open, that is all the reason you need. No need to try and build up any sense of RP to justify killing them. They agreed to be someone else's content, they might as well be yours.

Yes the PP tags are the only way to show everyone else where your loyalties are.

Not everyone is a mindless murderer, its always good to have a reason to kill a player (no matter how small)

Interesting. So that is one vote for yes.

PS not an RP guy

Ah, I'm obviously from some minority fed faction that is so insignificant that it does not feature as a power. Therefore I don't have a badge to wear yet am still a fed.

Either Hudson or Winters will work for your purposes, surely saying you support the President of the Federation is as good a badge as any for a Federation supporting pilot?

To clarify, I am not pro-pvp, I am anti-people playing in Open and then being the least bit surprised when they are suddenly vaporised without courtesy or warning by another player.

Psycho Chicken, what the cluck...

Allow me to give you some insight into the mind of a PKer.

1. There's a CMDR with a rival PP tag. Let's kill it. Because reasons.
2. There's a CMDR with the same PP tag as me. Let's kill it. Because reasons.

And there you have it.

PP tag is of no concern to the PKer. None.

Yours Aye

Mark H

PS - the modus operandus of a Mobius player:

1. There's a CMDR with same ePP tag as me. "Wanna wing up and kill WANTEDs".
2. There's a CMDR with a rival PP tag. "Wanna wing up and kill WANTEDs".

But that's it. Why do both need a badge? One is enough. It is in open after all and the other Cmdr's badge tells you all you need to know.

+1 And the click open thing of course.

This is already the case for a lot of people, including me. You could go easy on the little guys and let them go at 1% though. The sooner they get a big ship the prettier the explosion. =]

Yes they are. Even a superpower allegiance can be enough for "pvp consent"... Hahaha sorry can't say that with straight face... pvp consent... hahahaha :D

That said, my only one pkill was when I was flying the same banner as you were, Dreadnought :) It was an ALD iEagle and it provided a cheerful distraction to the tedious undermining grind for our wing. I wish I had the means to tell him afterwards why was he/she killed. Because it was a valid powerplay reason and no time to chat (he was escaping and only my cutter was able to keep up).

I also have had my bottom handed out to me by imperial aligned commander which was roleplaying and gave me the chance to wake out before engaging. Too bad he used heat meta :p. So yes, usually it would be enough that you are a fed and they are the Imps or vice versa. That said, you don't need a reason, really. Its just you and your conscience. Currently we lack a rep/karma system to justify criminal behaviour - I'm talking criminal perks and lawful perks here. But that's another "crime and punishment yadda yadda". In short, you can be anything you want in E: D. Murder-hobo or a palladin of virtue. Too bad the available tools for interaction greatly weight towards the "murder-hobo" role.
