LostWinds Help me (spoiling warning)

Hi!
I've recently reached the final boss of LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias.
I've fought him a couple of times, but it just ends the same way: defeat...
:(
I think I've tried the most, except for drawing a slipstream from the king to the masked shadow to see if he will jump up and bite it.
:D

I haven't really given up yet, but I thought some help would be nice.
I don't want the boss all spoiled for myself, but I'm requesting a few hints.
If someone could answer these questions without telling too much, I would be really grateful.

1. The boss hurls homing shadow spheres at me. I know I can repel them by aiming at them with the Wii remote, press A, and then throw them away. But are they more useful than that at beating the boss?

2. The King seems to be just as important (if not more) for the boss to kill as Toku is. Should I use him (the King) somehow when beating the boss?

3. Should I bring anything with me (other than the King) when I enter the Boss area? (A rock boulder, a whistling ball, anything else?)

All not too much spoiling tips and/or hints are also appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
:)

Perhaps a little help in return?

I found out about the singing, but now I'm stuck. In the final stage I use the king on two statues. The boss returns to the center and I get I hint that I have to throw something at him. What do I do? The only only thing I have to throw is the fruit. But I can't throw it fast or high enough. He throws these glorbs at me, but he disappears too fast. Any help?

Let the slow glorb energy ball follow you, then hit it back at him when Riveren stops in the centre.
