Help me!

Does anyone know a good fighting ship that has decent cargo for farming engeneer materials? It should be cheap as I'm a poor pilot. And can someone one tell me how to switch the modules from one ship to another?

Cobra III.

Cheap, although you can spend up to 10 million fitting it.

Adaptable.

moving modules is done by, selling modules at the outfitting screen and swooping ships, then the old module should be there to fit to 2nd ship. You MUST have both ships. You CANNOT leave station or log off, or sold modules will be lost.

ASP Explorer has decent combat capabilities and fast too...

Switch modules ?? moving modules from a ship to the other is not possible, you will need to buy them new for the new ship

Yes!
The Cobra Mk III.

Yes the cobra when you first start. its very good at combat, trading, exploring and mining. You could like me have 3
one for mining and one for trading and combat. I then bought an ASP Explorer for missions.
I now have a Python that fitted out for mining could make 3 million in an hour. but it cost a hell of a lot 150,000,000 CR

Try this site to experiment with outfitting, it has been mentioned in many postings on these forums.
https://coriolis.io/

as you loose money on buying modules or ships and selling them.

It is possible and has been tested a few times now .. the Spanish community already made it happen Its in the Spanish forum section.

Maybe not engineered modules, but I have done as I have described above, with normal off of the shelve modules.

Ok so to Swap Engineer Modded Modules

Get both ships to the same station.
Grab the ship with the Module and sell the Module
Change to the ship you want it installed
Buy Back the Module

now keep in mind that if you lose connection if your internet leave if your game crashes ect. you will lose that module and there's a 10 to 15 min window to perform the swap. Surfing the forums I noticed many on this forum suspect it but a few in the Spanish community actually tried it with successful results. [yesnod] Just as Arry said works just Fine.

There is some discussion about which ship is right for what job, but you cant go wrong with something like either

Cobra

Asp

Yeah, I know the Thrusters are less than optimal but its a good start.

The Python. It can do everything better than most of the ships in the game.
More cargo space than a T7
Enough modules to make loading up on mining gear a breeze
Decent jump range
Medium sized so it can dock at outposts
Big guns in case of pirates
a fuel tank big enough to stuff a Cobra in

Of course it's expensive, but who needs credits in this day and age?

The Python.

ME!!! I have a Python, but it still needs LOTS more money to make it viable. I dont like to do trade run after trade run, especially now. I do a little of everything and have only ~100million.

Cobra III.

Why:
Modules are interchangeable with a lot of the smaller ships: eg the gun loadout can fit on Viper III, Viper IV, DBS, Asp Scout. If you fly those ships, you can transfer modded weapon modules wholesale.
It had good cargo space to get missions, and ferry commodities to Engineers.

It has great boost speed to escape interdicting AI.

Low Rebuy cost( you should never have to rebuy!)

I put a level 3 FSD mod on, and have a jump range of 25 LY, 27 unloaded.

use this to find ships.
I stumbled upon it just a while ago. you can find modules class A ones or ships.

http://roguey.co.uk/elite-dangerous/

click the tab ships or then later equipment. I have just used it after an hour of trying to find class A mods for my python
to go mining again after it was kitted out for combat and trading.
have a good one

There are, of course, many good alternatives.
But with the criteria "cheap", I would say that the Cobra Mk III, is the obvious choice. :)
