Help my bears don't climb

So I placed different types of beams (climbable tag) vertically and none of my bears (different species) climb them. So got some questions for you guys with climbing bears:
1. What thick beams do bears climb?
2. Do the beams need to be placed in a certain angle?
3. Do bears need a reason to climb?(like enrichment)

1 - I mainly use the habitat climbing logs for large animals
2 - yes ideally no more than 45 degrees , I have seen usage for roughly a 75 degree angle at most
3 - yes I find you need to have a reason why the bear needs to climb upwards
