[HELP] My ship just exploded and now I lost it all.

I was undocking, pulling up landing gear, and boom, ship exploded. How can i get my ship back T.T http://i.imgur.com/0qGqHfm.png

Update: After submitting ticket.

Thanks for getting in touch. I've resurrected your commander for free and docked you for safety, so he should be exactly as you left him.

Please let me know if you have any further issues.

Regards,

Mike

The first thing you did wrong was launch without enough to cover the rebuy.

If you're certain it was a bug that killed you, put it a ticket asking a CSR to investigate it. If it turns out a bug killed you, you may get your ship back.

What he said, if it really was a bug, you'll get your ship back with a ticket, if it's determined to be it wasn't you are back to a previous ship, but based on how much money you have you probably rushed the vulture purchase and over extended yourself financially including selling any previous ships, well, yeah.. This forum is littered with people learning this hard lesson.

My 1st rule when buying and spec out my new ship is how much money do I have left if things go wrong .

I submitted a ticket and awaiting reply. Btw, I had 6 A rated Shield Boosters equipped and a 5A Shield Generator. It should be able to take a half dozen full speed rams before I actually drop shields. But I literally insta died randomly.

From the known issues list of FD:
" Ships very rarely destroyed after leaving launch pad "

What happened to you, might be the above bug.

If you get your ship back, take this as a severe warning: Many players have lost everything because they flew without enough Cr balance to cover the insurance.

Sounds like it may well be a bug (though even the setup you describe would be destroyed by one full speed boost into the inside of a station) and you stand some chance of getting your ship back.

However, why are you flying a seventy million credit ship with only 1.36 million in cash on hand? This is not at all wise. You don't even have enough credits to cover the hull, so in the case of a legitimate hull loss, you'd lose nearly all of your tangible assets.

Yea I read about players having issues with invisible collisions in stations too. Thats why I thought this could be it. I really hope the issue is resolved, I didn't really foresee a rare bug that could strip me of all my efforts.

I was going to continue doing RES Hunting in solo, so predicted nothing of danger would be able to kill me.

If you had left the station. It would only been a post about how I instantly exploded in a res. Hmm no insurance combat and large asteroids. Some people are destined to loose it all.

Asteroids can be quite dangerous, even in solo. E.g. sometimes combat is so heated, that you do not see the rock you are turning into.

Definitely. I haven't YET been killed by an asteroid, but I've had some very close calls while bounty hunting. RES hunting is NOT a profession one should assume is safe, even if one considers the enemies not to be a threat (and I can tell you from experience, that isn't wise, either. Getting hostile to a faction and having them sic multiple Anacondas on you can get dicey really fast!)

Really, there is nothing in the game that should be considered "safe". Safety is an illusion. Never, ever, ever fly without enough to cover your rebuy.

EDIT: Actually, let me take that a step farther and say this: The most deadly thing in this whole game is not griefers or pirates or asteroids or station lasers or NPC's or overzealous authority ships.

It's complacency.

Complacency kills.

If you let your guard down. If you let yourself believe that something bad cannot happen. If you let yourself believe success is assured. If you let yourself believe that you are invincible. If you simply stop paying attention to the little things you need to do to survive and succeed... you will pay the price. It happens to everyone eventually, but it happens a lot more to those who are careless.

Flying without insurance is an unnecessary risk. Taking unnecessary risks can and will bite you.

That's not to say one should never take an unnecessary risk. There are times when taking an unnecessary risk may be worthwhile because of some perceived benefit.

But if you take an unnecessary risk and it bites you? That's on you. No matter how it happened.

Res hunting without insurance isn't the smartest decision, those asteroids pack a punch. Can/will kill you if you hit one under combat conditions.

Flying without being able to cover your rebuy isn't really a smart decision under any cirumstances. Much less so in a RES. That was my point.

Good news OP; you just get a free sidewinder :D

My personal rule is, if i undock the ship is already lost so i have to be prepared for that.

Now i see your balance at over 1 million; for a decent viper and insurance is more than enough.

Nope, Won't accept that as a reason. Whatever happened to my ship was caused by a rare but indeed player reported bug. It has happened to others before. Any other answers besides me getting back by ship will simply be faced head on with maximum salt and a never ever gonna wanna hear the words ED attitude. Yea I know it sucks, life sometimes suck, and sometimes you get a kick in the nuts, but frankly speaking, yes I did spend a lot of time investing myself in the game, including 3-4 skin packs, there will always be other games to play. I won't be suicidal or anything just because I lost a few hundred hours in a game. In life, projects fail and time invested will never come back. But you can be sure as hell I'll be "insert angry emotion here".

100% on you buddy. You should not have left the pad without insurance. Bug or no bug you played a major part in your loss. Learn from it.

I don't think you understand the fundamental principle of this issue. This problem would not have arisen if not for the bug. Even if I had enough for insurance, can you guarantee me that it won't happen again? If not me, then how about other players? How about you? Maybe to you, this isn't such a problem. But for players who own big ships, losing a couple of mill could out right ruin your grinding efforts for the past 2 hours.

The difference though is if you have insurance covered any time you undock and a bug like this happens, it's a mild annoyance but you can continue playing while the ticket is sorted.

Not having insurance rebuy is your fault. If you have it, you could be blowing pirates while the ticket got processed and your credits refunded. Now you're stuck at the rebuy screen.
