Help!! My ship keeps rotating to the left

Yesterday when I played the game everything was alright and today suddenly my ship rolls to the left the whole time... playing since beta 3 and this never happened yet.

Edit: I use a joystick (logitech attack 3)

are you using a joy stick or game pad, if so have you calibrated it correctly, is it sticking to left?

I had that a few weeks ago and found out that my joystick controls had set to digital rather than analogue. Might be worth checking it out anyway.

I had something like this happen last night. I had to remove the rotational control on my throttle in the options to stop it from happening. I use a X55 on a non powered USB hub. I moved the USB plug to a USB 3 slot in the hopes it would solve my problems but this one popped up last night.

Check your control setup, what is configures to be roll axis, or roll left key. If it is key, change it to another one to check whether it is keyboard. If it is mouse, un-set it and put it as key. If it is joystick, you might want to re-calibrate and if that does not help you could add some dead zone (or what was that name).

Are you playing with an analogue stick? This happened to me when I had something resting against my stick when I turned the computer on; it was gently pushing on the stick, making it off centre.

It takes where the stick is at when it powers up to be zero, so when you centre it, it reads it as being off to one side. Unplug the joystick and pluf it back in and all should be well.

Ok I tried to do stuff in the controls but it didnt work, so I restarted the game (should have done before...stupid me) and now it's gone. Thanks for the help guys!
edit: nevermind it's back again :(

Aye I started getting this (I've Thrustmaster T Flight X) works fine with other games. I've re-calibrated and checked the analogue/digital settings but still get it?
Worked fine all through Beta/Gamma.
I've tried damping down using the dead space but it still keeps drifting left and the yaw is hopeless with the dead space setting higher than say 20%.
Hoping its not the switches in the stick twist itself. Stick only a year old? Anyone any ideas?

I've got a stick that I think is an unbranded copy of the attack 3 and it started doing that in other games. I think at least in my case it's a fault with the stick, if I look in the control panel setting for it occasionally the input jumps over to the left all on it's own.

Go into options, controller, and add a deadzone, only a small one, I had the same issue until I realised it was the controller and Elite that are very sensitive.

I had the same issue with the yaw on my Cyborg X at the weekend, I was in the middle of combat and it started to intermittently yaw to the right.
I took it apart and it looked ok, but then I found that one of the wires going to the yaw potentiomenter was loose, and only being held in contact most of the time by a nearby blob of glue.

These wires are probably the ones that get moved around the most, and are very fine, so I guess it might be a common type of failure and probably worth checking that everything is solid.

Have you checked to see what bindings are set to that movement axis?

I've had this before but it's always been a cable lying on the keyboard, or the n52. Also if you have a dirty keyboard or stick it could be gunk in the works

*Sucks teeth*

That'll be the portside quantum inhibitor - I could fix it up for you, but your best replacing the whole portside drive shaft.

I can do it for 3 million credits. Payment upfront...

I have similar problems all the time, but i know exactly what is causing it.. Bits of debris that gets stuck under the keyboard (as i have roll assigned to A & D)

Well as a workaround I've put the deadzone bar in the options to 4 times to the left and now it stopped rotating. But I can't imagine how I should fight with this now... Probably I have to open the Joystick and have a look at the hardware as Commander Bloomoo proposed (even though I have no knowledge about this topic, I built a network cable once but that's it :|)

Opened the joystick. Everything looked fine. ThenI tried to fly in War Thunder with the Joystick (which I should have tried before... again stupid me) and everything worked fine. So the problem must be on Elite: Dangerous.
