Help - Need to rank to Baron fast!

Can someone please give me the best and fastest method of ranking to Baron. I'm currently ranked knight but it's taken me ages to get to this rank as I can only play at weekends and some of the missions seemed bugged for me.

With this new stupid rep deterioration idea from FD I really want to get a clipper before 1.3 is released and I lost my rep.

Please help!

I hate to sound like a broken record but the best and only method of gaining rank is to do faction quests. Find a nice Empire system with several empire factions in them that you're currently not allied with and do the simple mission of mercy

and deliveries. No combats would be best since it could damage your rep with another empire faction and it will eat up a bit of time. Once you become allied with the factions a rank up mission should pop for you shortly. Rinse and repeat.

Delivery Missions , supply missions , goods donation missions , for as many Empire sub-factions as you can find in a system without failing ANY , avoid the kill missions....finish each batch...go back...get more....rinse and repeat.

i am in similar situation, a Knight atm. it seem i am allied with lot of sub-faction already. even without doing quest with them. does doing quest with allied sub-faction won't get me rank progression?

From what I understand, faction decay happens over a period of about 20 days, and only your rep decays, not your ranks, and then only from Allied to Friendly. You should still be able to get yourself to Baron without much trouble and get the Clipper.

The 'allied' flag for sub factions you haven't done any work for is a display 'bug' , it's actually showing your overall faction level for the Empire and not the level for that sub-faction , do a bulletin board quest for one and you'll see the blue up arrow appear next to the sub-factions name showing you're gaining with them.

oh.... now that change a lot of things...

thanks

Lol! Ranking up quick, good luck with that mate!

I'm still getting permit invitations for systems I've already unlocked, even from the actual system the invite is for! But apparently the system is not broken. Yeah right...

Yeah, outrageous isn't it? If they had any integrity they'd do a complete overhaul on the missions system as part of an update that's due to go live next week. Oh, wait...

If you want to rank up quick you want to work for multiple different factions at the same time. So find a place where there are at least three empire factions with whom you have no rep with and do missions. Delivery are best because you can pick up a mission, go to another station, pick up a mission, go to another station... etc. If you pick the missions carefully you can keep doing this.

Make sure you aren't working for minor factions that are opposing each other. Keep doing missions (including reputation missions) and try and avoid any that might give you +rep with a minor faction but -rep with the Imps.

I found it worked best for me just doing missions for a single minor faction at one station.

The time between getting new offers varies, sometimes short, sometimes longer.

Thanks all, Ill give it a go tonight, was hoping to reach Baron before 1.3 comes out because im not sure how the changes will affect my ability to rank up. 20 days isnt that long to lose rep when you can only play at weekends, thats roughly 6 days game time for me and 14 days offline.

This whole rep degrading thing is stupid, i cant physically get online to play other than weekends as i have a job and family - Am i supposed to quit work so i can play this game or what?

Just bear in mind that, depending upon how beta testing goes, 1.3 may go live next week, and when it does all active missions will be wiped, because the current ones aren't compatible with the v1.3 missions overhaul. There currently seems to be a general reduction in mission availability, perhaps deliberately in order to minimise the impact of the missions wipe.

That being the case, now might not be the best time to start trying to do high-volume missions.
