Help needed configuring landing mode

I accidentally pressed the X key (the boost key) on my Xbox 360 controller while landing and crashed and burned inside the station. I read that there is a way to configure a different set of controls that function only when landing gear are deployed. Do I need to reassign all my controller keys in the landing mode part of the config file? Or can I just reassign the X key in that mode to something else to prevent me from doing that again?

Yes to the last question. Just rebind the button to do something else in the override section.
