Help needed for Mercenary Missions

Hi all,

So I have taken my mercenary mission and have been given a target system and a name. I've flown to that system but have no idea how to find my target. I've flown around my entry coordinates and also the system station but no luck.

What do I need to do to find my target?

I've also just taken a mission to kill 17 trade shifts in a nearby sector. I fly in but there is hardly anyone there, yet alone 17 ships to kill. I am sure I am not doing something correct but I don't know what.

If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it

Haha i'm having the same problem. New to the game, not sure how to find those targets. I did see a few while in Hyperdrive but everytime I stop close, there's nothing around.
