Help needed to find a suitable home system for a story I am writting

Hi,

I am writing a story in the Elite world. My protagonist lives on a planet (or moon) that orbits around a blue Gas Giant with rings. I need the planet or moon be close to the giant and be rocky with some nice chasms and canyons. The system needs to have at least two stars.
I have been searching for a system that fits my description in the story but haven't found an exact match yet. Please help me finding a system so I can go there and deepen the story.

I am willing to pay 50 canisters of pure gold for the commander that points me to the perfect system.

Thanks

Looks like I know what I'll be doing the next few days. I'm guessing that the planet/moon is airless (we can't really see geographic features on atmospheric worlds)? Are there any other requirements we should know about (population, superpower affiliation, etc...)?

Also, what platform are you on (for when somebody does find you a suitable location)?

Edit: just thought of this, but when you say that the system has 2 stars, do you mean that the stars are relatively close together (binary pair), or that there are 2 stars but one is very far away (10k Ls or more)? Also, in the case of a binary pair, could there be other stars in the system?

Perhaps it would be easier to base your story on a system that exits in game rather than try and find a system that matches your story.

Sorry for my slow reply. I have had a short vacation.

@nightsta1ker: you are right that is would be easier but not as much fun. Besides I have already written a substantial description of the home planet.
My character ventures outside and witnesses a spectacular visual event were the light of two stars shines through the icy rings. So the stars need to be somewhat close to each other.

@MK_Regular: I am playing on the PC. I did not think about people being on other platforms. The transfer of gold will be hard but I promise to mention your commander's name.

The moon/planet should be orbiting the Blue Gas Giant with rings fairly close. The small miners community they live in does not have to be available in the 'real' universe but it would be great if it did. The moon is airless and has great canyons or large craters.
The community is independent so the superpower the system is in does not really matter. They tend to prefer the Federation though (since I already have another character who is Empire aligned).

Thanks for your help,
Commander Hikokage

This will provide some significant problems. Because of the way planets/moons form, if a planet has both rings and moon(s) they will almost always orbit in the same axis (for reference, on my trip to beagle point and back, I never saw moons and rings orbit around the same planet in different axis).

If the moon and ring are orbiting in the same axis, the visual event you describe is impossible.

If the requirement for the visual event to be able to occur on the chosen moon was lifted, I would say go with the moon 'Ao AB 2 c':
  • K and M class stars orbiting in a binary orbit (currently about 70 ls apart)
  • System is Federation aligned
  • Orbits a class III gas giant (the blue type) with rocky rings orbiting about 1100-1200 ls from the binary stars
  • Rocky moon with about 0.1G gravity
  • Orbits a little over 6 ls from the gas giant (although it might be too far away for your purposes)
  • Has a small mining outpost (6 mineral extractors, a pair of skimmers, a pair of turrets, a single building) in a canyon at LAT 19.23, LNG 174.38
  • Can provide screenshots upon request (just need to figure out how)
Also, I just realized that the screenshots that you can take in ED cannot be uploaded to the forums because bitmaps are not supported. Obviously, somebody didn't think that one through.

Edit: still doing some looking. If I find anything better, I'll make another post.
