I believe they are roleplaying as a group who is opposed to the faction that the event is designed to benefit. I think you should perhaps contact player groups who support that faction and ask for help from them.

Is why i dont play open...let the pew-pew guys shoot fish in barrels

This is why I'll never play in solo. Incredibly boring with no threat of any kind ever. Like staring at a spreadsheet.

Clearly, the OP neither reads GalNet, nor the forums.

Also, clearly the action of these players is not considered inappropriate by FD, or there would not be a GalNet post about it.

In other words: Stopping someone from completing a community goal for a faction that you oppose is fair game, folks. As it should be. After all, this is pretty much how Powerplay is going to work!

Well, yes, unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your outlook), this is basically fully in-character. A community event supporting Patreus asks ppl to gather components for war activities. Pro-federation people, obviously, will set up a blockade of that sector.

So.. you gotta think like a blockade runner. Either sneak past, or try to run-rush it, or go in a massive, combat-ready force.

That said.. OP has a good point - now it's time for pro-empire bounty hunters to head to Eotiensis, get cash, and then hand the vouchers in at LH706. The systems are only 2-3 hops away anyway ;)

why is this such an issue?

you enjoy doing anything you want with no sense of danger? these community events are faction based, why wouldn't another faction show up to disrupt it?

whatever. without "pew-pew guys" this would be a miserably boring experience. but.. I guess you love it like that so, who am I to judge?

I AM (on my second account, that is) a pro-Empire bounty hunter, and I have absolutely no interest in helping. As a loyalist of Princess Arissa, I want to see Patreus fail as much as possible!

EDIT: Besides that, I'm kinda busy doing the Princess' bidding in HR 706 right now.

Oh, two competing Community Goals then ? (I'm 6500LY out right now)

Well, in Open Play that's a meat grinder.
Participating can be a great thrill - but one better has good insurance, lots of friends around - or a really good Plan B ;)

Actually, there's no CG to stop Patreus, a Fed player group decided to do it on their own. And have been doing well enough that Shadow President Hudson praised them on GalNet for it.

Princess Arissa does have a CG for Imperial bounty hunters in HR 706, though.

some sap tried to interdict me when I had 8 million worth of bounties to turn in last night.

it didn't turn out well for him/her, but it gave me a hell of an adrenaline shot!

Pfffft. Loyalists...
Support all sides in this power struggle. Whichever leader emerges victorious, will be fit to run the Empire. Whoever loses, loses. No point in casting sides just yet ;) Besides, look at the big picture - whatever the politicks, we certainly don't want Fed forces running wild deep in Empire territory.

Pffffft. Fed forces.

If Patreus is strong enough to be a contender, his supporters should be able to deal with such a minor obstacle on their own!

In the mean-time, we still have a conspiracy to exterminate. That's a little more important than Senator Patreus' pathetic power games.

Ah, everyone already knows Patreus offed the old Emperor. Everyone's just going through the motions for propriety's sake. It's a nonspiracy.

Anyway. I kinda wish more storylines started involving the Fed side. It's been very, very heavily empire-slated lately.

Good sirs in their amazing flying machines, sorry to drop in unannounced. But do we know which side pays better? I may look into this conflict from a, shall we say, scientific point of view.

I play in solo or group so don't notice this. Sounds like fun though so will buy a Viper and go and have a look. If I shoot at the players with bounties within the 'no fire zone' will I receive a bounty myself?

I think so, sadly...
