D
I can't get the game to pick it up.

What do I need to do to enable it?

My X52 Pro was collecting dust for more than 2 years.

I have finally repaired one broken button today ("i" on throttle), and decided to practice a bit as I want to enjoy new ships and game improvements in VR when the patch hits...

But I had so much trouble binding everything, so I don't have to use M/KB. How do you guys manage to bind everything? Even using pinky as a "shift" function to double the keys I am struggling.

Planning in advance. LOTS of planning in advance. If there are functional bits where you are always doing the same things in the same order consider making a macro to bind to a single control - you can end up with several in-game controls that are only ever triggered as part of a macro, never bound to an individual stick control. Think intelligently about how you're going to use the sticks 3 modes, which controls you're going to want to always keep the same between them and which can be dispensed with and remapped to something else in a different mode.

Do your planning and testing in the beta, because whatever you come up with in the main game now you're going to want to junk and start over when the changes in beta go live.
