help needed

hi guys, can someone please explain how I get to move around this system ? I am in change and I just took a job to go to lhs 417 but I looking at the galaxy map and I have no idea how to get there ?

You need to search for the system in question using the galaxy map. Then try to identify whether you can jump there or not. You should see blue and grey lines connecting the systems. Blue lines show the possible jumps with maximum cargo mass, the grey ones with user-defined cargo mass. You may need to sell equipment in order to jump further.

I know where it is on the map the job reckons I can go there as I wouldn't have been able to accept the job, its just that I don't know how I traverse up and down the system ? if you know what I mean I can read and travel horizontal but how do I go vertically up or down ? hope you understand lol ?

It's a little bit difficult to understand... it is Friday night here you now. However, there is no matter whether it is horizontal or vertical, you still have to look for connecting lines. If you can see any way that is connected to the required system then you are good. No connections - try to lose the weight.

I'm at work but... I think you mean while IN the galaxy map?.... try holding down your right mouse button and moving the mouse forward and back & up and down, that help? If not— Check "search" on the forum here, if you have not already, should be some info on it around here. I know I saw stuff posted in the past about galaxy map control. Hopefully someone will show up who is at home or remembers.

Keep in mind you may have to make two or three jumps to other locations to make it. Rarely can you avoid that. Not sure if I understood you right, edited this because I may have misinterpreted what yo need help with. Good luck!

thanks very much yes im in the galaxy map but I don't see any connecting lines going up and down I stripped out everything on my ship even the lasers lol still no joy I also understand that sometimes you have to make 2 or 3 jumps and refill fuel etc but still no idea how you go up or down I can see what you mean about holding down rmb but still no I dea how I get up or down there lol but thanks. i'll keep searching.

Look at the star systems that you need to hop between to get to your destination. Than after you've launched from the station go to the navigation hud and select the first star system in your route and engage hyperspace drive. If you're mass locked near the station then fly a bit further and press J to start hyperspace jump. Then just repeat this for each hop to your destination. If you run out of fuel along the way, just dock at the nearest station and refuel.

skaldy, I am in the system of eranin, I bootis etc, but I need to go lower but there are no connecting routes to get lower ? unless im missing something, im betting its something really simple lol.
