Newcomer / Intro (Help please) Can't turn in power data

As you can see on the screenshot, It said that my data is out of range in the power contact. I was in the exact system which is Ansuz. I tired going to other systems to see if I could hand it in at other places. I don't really understand powerplay 2.0 too much so I am new to this. I also need to find 9 power classified data from LHS 6031 for my weekly assignments. I can't find it any where. Where do you have to go to get one? I can only find other power data which I still can't turn into my contact at LHS 6031. Can anyone explain to me how this works and help me with this?

hi, strangely the entire functionality & design is imo so overly convoluted & confusing it becomes un-fun ( and sometimes even impossible, since certain Weekly Assignments aren't coded/filtered properly ) to pretty much everyone except for nice helpful EliteD savants like @Ian Doncaster , so your best bet is probably to check out the---> https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forums/elite-dangerous-playstyles/ section and look for him to reply.

While you wait, be sure to also read your in-game 'Codex--->Pilots Handbook--->PowerPlay' tab within cockpit panel-4 , as well as be sure to click/read each of your Weekly Assignments bars within panel-1 'Transactions' tab ( since often times those descriptions will explain details on where/how to accomplish ) .

*EDIT: classified data is actually from GROUND settlements ( i confused it with something else my bad )

I'm assuming you're pledged to Aisling Duval?

Industrial and Research data aren't usable as Reinforcement actions, so you can't hand them in to a Power Contact at all if you found them in your own system. You can sell them to the normal Odyssey bartender to get them out of your inventory. (You could in theory hold on to them in case your power ever lost control of Ansuz, but it's really not worth it!) The same applies to the Powerplay Goods (e.g. Data Storage Device) lower down the screenshot.
(Unfortunately, "out of range" seems to be shown in any case where the item can't be handed in here, and that's often not the actual reason)

Classified data is the rarest type of Odyssey powerplay data - you'll only find it certain sorts of data port. (Power, Command, Security and Laboratory definitely can ... Industrial and Agricultural probably won't ... but Habitat data ports never do) Depending on the type of settlement you were checking, you might not have many of the right sort of ports - the big high-tech or military settlements are generally best, but even then, maybe expect one per settlement.

Thank you, I wish the game would do a better job at explaining this. It also doesn't help that the system LHS 6031 is at war so I can't go to every settlement
