Help please! DK2 wont even show up in the ED or Horizons

Hi guys

Really need your help!

I have Horizons and a DK2 and play via STEAM, I have installed oculus_runtime_sdk_0.5.0.1_win as I use Windows 10 x64 and I cant see the DK2 in the display options in settings, it use to appear before the Horizons update and I would often play ED with my Oculus.

I have also uninstalled this runtime and tried the latest oculus_runtime_sdk_0.8.0.0_win and that wont show up either.

IS this a common issue?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

No no, 0.5 have been the runtime we on windows 10 have been running reliably for 6 months now.

Lately it was discovered that 0.8 worked fine too, when you trick ED to think it runs under steamVR.

Silly question, is the Rift on when you start Elite?

Make sure it's set to Extended Mode in the Oculus settings.

In the display options in Elite, you may need to specify between Primary and Secondary displays.

Install the 8.0 SDK from Oculus, SteamVR from steam in library tools (you may need to opt-in the beta releases).

First time: Start SteamVR, do the room setup (stand-sit to get the proper orientation on the HDM), then start Horizon. It will start on the desktop. Go to config and in the 3d drop down you should see the HDM options. Select that and the game will appear on the HDM. Note that the refresh rate is tied to the desktop one and you may have to adjust your desktop resolution (prior) to get 75hz. Select windows full screen (don't change the resolution in the HDM it is 1080p regardless of what it says) to make the game active.

Thereafter you only need start Horizon as the game will see the SteamVr wrapper and will start it as needed.

Its weird, I get a big black across the screen that takes up the image on the DK2.
