Help PLEASE - Pimax Crystal Light

Hi all

I really hope someone can point me in the right direction as try as I might I cant seem to get a steady FPS.

System specs - i7 13700K, 32GB, RTX 4090.

It may be that I am mixing my settings with in-game and Pimax play settings so I would really appreciate it if someone can advise me what I need to do.

I am not bothered about achieving 90FPS etc. as long as the gameplay is smooth.

Thanks in advance and fly safe.

Just at the moment ED seems to be having problems with stuttering, there is debate as to whether it's driver and/or engine related. I have a 5090 and it's very smooth until the stutter problem kicks in:

Ergo, you may fettle the settings but don't worry if you can't make it smooth yet. Turning up supersampling and HMD settings, especially the latter, will hurt your FPS more than most other settings. Planetary terrain settings are also ones to play with, when you are over a planet, to get the balance you prefer of fidelity vs FPS.

I don't play EDO that much these days, so haven't tested my settings out in every scenario.

I have a PCL and can maintain a pretty smooth 90fps with my settings.

For context my specs are:
RTX 4090
AMD 7800X3D
64gb DDR5
2tb NMme m.2 SSD
Windows 11
Nvidia driver 566.36

Main settings for Pimax App
Refresh rate = 90hz
Render quality = low
Pimax Central Priority Rendering = on
Balanced
all else = off
Using OpenXR Runtime with Pimax OpenXR

Ingame settings
Supersampling = 1.0
HMD quality = 1.5
everything else is high or ultra

These settings may seem odd to some but they work just fine for me.
I can maintain 90fps for the most part, it does drop a little in stations but usually hovers around in the high 80's. It also looks incredibly clear and sharp to my old eyes.

I tend to use openXR over steamVR and use openXR overlay to tell me the current fps values.

Hope this helps a little.
As stated, I don't play EDO much so I've not really fine tuned my settings at all. Once I was able to keep up 90fps without reprojection I just left it alone.
