Hardware & Technical Help required - Edtracker does not work with X56

Edtracker was working perfectly with my old X55 and changed to a new X56 (Grey - not Blue). Rebound all the controls but can't get Headlook to work.

I have set up with Headlook - Off, Direct enabled rather than accumulate. Changed key bindings numerous times and very occasionally headlook seems to take effect but just jitters slightly right and then jumps back to the centre.

Edtracker has been checked via WIndows 10 without ED being opened and works perfectly. Opening ED and trying same shows Edtracker working, but will not enable/work in ED.

Also have Voice attack installed (and the relevant keys have been set and reset and retested!) and headlook will not select from either key or voice attack in either ship or SRV and the key bindings are the same for both ship and srv.

Have checked forums/google and tried just about everything but nothing seems to make any difference

So as i have now run out of ideas, i was hoping someone might be able to help.

Thanks

have looked and

headlook button increments = continuous (for joystick/edtracker) & headlook axis mode is direct (for joystick/edtracker) can't see a continuous setting on axis mode only "direct" and "accumulate" options available.

Check if there is any error log files in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings
Do you have more files in there other than "Custom.3.0.binds" and "StartPreset.start"?

There is an error file, but just related to missing X55 joystick and there are Custom Binds 1.8, Custom Binds 2.0 and Custom Binds 3.0 and my back up file. I thought the 1.8 and 2.0 referred to ED 1 & 2 and the 3 is for ED Version 3.

I had problems with EDTracker after some update, the device wasn't working at all in the game but did outside of it. There was error log file present. I also had older bind files in there so I deleted everything, start the game and first thing I did is bind the head look axis of EDTracker and it worked. I continued to bind other stuff for the joystick and at some point EDTracker stopped working again. It was a long time ago so I can't remember what did the trick but I know I found the problem by deleting all files and started to bind. That way you can see if/when/how your joystick is maybe causing problems because mine did have some conflicts. You can try that, bind only head look and see if it works at all.

Edit:
If I wasn't clear, delete everything from that folder (move your backup file somewhere) and when the folder is empty, start the game.

Finally! Sorted!

First of all a big THANK YOU to all of you for your help and particularly Ophion who said conflicts which made me think that after everything I have tried this had to be something really simple and so decided to go back to the beginning.

On connecting the new X56 HOTAS i decided to use Logitech's bindings as a starting point and now began to wonder could it really be something as simple as a conflict somewhere.

I have been looking for the original bindings from Logitech for the X56 for ED for a while and instead of using Google tried Bing and found them. On inspection i discovered that the headlook was bound to a mini joystick that (to be honest) i hadn't realised was there. So after selecting headlook and moving the mini joystick headlook would move. So off and check the Headlook options and saw that the the bindings that i originally thought were for the edtracker (joystick) were in fact for the mini joystick on the HOTAS. Changed the bindings to be the edtracker joystick and finally - yes finally the damn thing works.

So lesson to self. It may take longer to start your bindings from scratch - but at least when your finished you know it works how you want it to work.

Once again thanks for everyone's help.
