Newcomer / Intro Help Setting up a Jostick

Hello folks, I just purchased E:D and a CH Products Fighterstick to go along with it.

Unfortunately, the game acts like it's not seeing the device. I've confirmed it works (Windows sees the stick and all the buttons and axes register), but no input works in-game. I tried a different USB port and ended up doing endless cartwheels.

Is there some magic trick to getting the game to say hello to my new peripheral?

Saw the title and I was about to say light a match! +1 rep for making me smile this early in the morning. Have you had a look at the options page? The sticks I have used all worked out of the box, but not used that CH one so cannot comment further

So it seems as if ED caused a weird malfunction with the direct drivers--I ended up installing CH Products' CH Control Manager and the game recognized the stick after that. I've also gone ahead and remapped the keys in CHCM (as opposed to handling the bindings in ED itself), and things are flying much more smoothly.

In fact, I've gone ahead and ordered the CHP Pro Throttle as well. After that? Probably an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. I'm doomed.

I have the CH fighterstick and throttle. There is a downloadable configuration file that tailors the CH products to Elite Dangerous. Basically you load the file into the CH
Configuration folder. All instructions and printable templates are supplied. Do a google search should locate it for you. I am away at the moment so I dont have the link for you with me. I use it and very satisfied.

Yes, you're doomed. The CH pedals are nice, also.

Anyway, good work- you have worked out for yourself what I was about to post, about installing the software- ZOMG ninja-ed :) Welcome to the world of fancy controllers in ED- it's a lot of fun.
