Help shields have gone missing

Hi Folks,

HELP!!!!!

I started playing the game today then realised my shields had gone missing altogether.

As far as I am aware I had not sold them but I tried to buy some more anyway but they are not coming up on the list of internal hardpoints so I cannot buy any replacements!!

I am flying a Trader with plenty of spare power so why are shields not even listed at the shipyards, everything else is?

I have logged out and back in again but the do not appear on the list of internal options...

You probably did sell them accidentally. Shields don't have their own compartment. They are listed under 'internal compartments', and share the list with cargo racks and other such things.
The ship you're flying will determine what kind of shield you need. I'd go with one of your largest slot compartments to get a shield that would cover your ship.

Stations don't stock one of everything.
You are gonna have to search around until you find an appropriate class of shield generator.

Thanks very much for the advice.

It was not either of your suggestions as it turned out.

I had purchased another item earlier yesterday but that piece of equipment was to big to fit in the available compartment and it did not warm me of that fact!

It removed the shield generator to fit the new item....

When I tried to buy a shield generator it did not show up as an option to purchase as there was no room to fit it.

After selling a couple of other items there was space so it came up on the purchase list, problem solved.

That is one to watch out for next time....
