Hi All, I was getting sick of grinding my ranks for the imperial clipper and noticed just how much money i had. I had considered buying a python but decided that i would trick out a clipper and do everything in style. i already had Master in order to buy my racing courier and didn't think that the short grind would be to bad. wrong. oh well i thought, that python is looking mighty fine right now, so i hit up eddb and found the nearest system that sold pythons. i got there is one jump and rushed into the station to grab my shiny new ship. all according to plan. i got in, kitted it out with some basic guns and a distributor in order to have a look at the pythons combat capability. i opened up the galactic map and tried to plot a route to a spot i had found nearby. route plotting failed. oh no. i couldn't jump anywhere. i guess ill buy a bigger fsd i said. jumped back into the station. hmm... grade 5 fsds... nothing. oh no. i got back on eddb and found out that my worst nightmare had just come true. the system sold me a ship that you coudn't leave the system with. no class 5s anywhere. class 4s, class 7s... nope. no class 5s. i REALY don't want to sell this ship, anyone got any ideas? please? [sad]...[cry]

If you can wait until 2.2 drops you could buy a Hauler (or transfer a ship to your current station) and go to a station that has the correct class FSD and then have the ship transferred, for a 60 mil ship around 500 k/10 LY in the current Beta (2.5 mil for my 95 mil Python Boreas to Founders).
Removing mass will increase jump range so D rate everything you can and remove weapons, fit a smaller fuel tank, smaller lighter shields and thrusters, however you will get to a point where the ship isn't really survivable so if you can get enough range to jump out you'll be taking a risk.
If you have other ships fit out a Hauler or similar and go use one of them until 2.2 or buy an Asp or DBE and use it to transport a class 5 FSD and swap them over to the Python but don't sell the Python (you'll lose 10% of the buying price), it's a great ship and engineered it's mighty!

Thanks for that, kinda don't want to wait that long so I'll just buy a asp ( I think I can find one in system) and go find a 5 c/b/a fsd and swap it over, thanks!
Yeah I had a similar problem when I bought my FAS. The station I bought it at had no suitable upgrades and being on the edge of the bubble I could not jump to another system.
I removed everything I could, All empty slots, and set everything else to the lowest D class modules that still worked.
That gave me a massive choice of two systems to visit. One had no outfitting at all, the other finally let me fit a reasonable power plant and FSD and I was on my way. I really enjoyed that. Probably would not have enjoyed it if I couldn't resolve though
