Newcomer / Intro Help! Where is my ship? (On-foot mission)

I was doing a power restore mission. Some scavengers landed while I was deep in the Command and Power complex and destroyed my ship on the pad (a Cobra).

I fled the base, and booked an Apex to get to the station in-system that had given me the mission.

As I didn't die, I got no rebuy screen. So where is my replacement ship? Where should it have spawned?

It can't be gone, surely. It has weeks of engineering on it.

I think I am going to have to install/upgrade Horizons and stop playing Odyssey, it's absolute madness that I can't access my "current ship" in my (and its) current station. There is noone at the Shipyard desk and no way to access the hangar. I can't access the hangar for any other ship at any other station. I can't even buy a new ship.

Go back to the planet where you were, outside the settlement, and recall your ship. It's in orbit there, waiting for you.

if it got blown up, go to the nearest Inter Astra
they will let you have a rebuy screen for your ship so you can carry on..

it would be nice if the code made an effort to let a cmdr KNOW this...

p.s.
I always park at least 1.5km from settlements. nice to have a ship to go back to.
further if its a CZ, even though my ship will leave right away.

If that were the case, wouldn't it appear on the system map as a spaceship icon? I went back to the mission settlement, still scavengers/abandoned, and the "recall ship" icon on my Q wheel is greyed out.

Sadly not, the Inter Astra desk (at a distant station in the system, being Ogmar) had no NPC at it, even after reloading the game. Thus no way of rebuying. Flew to another system and every Inter Astra is the same. Since I have no usable ship, even in stations where I have ships in the ships - which are not "current ship" and thus inaccessible - no-one is ever at the Inter Astra desk.

Many Inter Astra desks are not manned...Find one that is...

odd, that only happens to me when the game can't connect to the servers properly, happens often enough in EDO.

if you can't get an npc in there, sounds bad as in you need fdev to fix something
because if your ship died, this is how you get it back.
or, you can try Horizons and force it to put you into the rebuy screen, I would do this because EDO has already misplaced my ship several times and going into Horizons stuffs me back into it no matter where it went, or a rebuy screen. and I have had many rebuy screens for no reason too, thanks EDO.

the most common thing that causes me to not see any NPC in the Inter Astra or the Pioneer is suit and weapon hunting
I might spend 1 or 2 days using apex, several log offs to eat and sleep, etc...
by the time I want my ship, often EDO has no idea that I was in a ship and if there are no npc's in any office it becomes a what situation
lost track of how many times this has happened, so it is now natural for me to just log into horizons and not give a crap where my body or my ship are and let Horizons save me tons of time.
so, Horizons fixes it.

Yes but soon they're turning Horizons off aren't they? Or will it always have a separate launch option?

Having to spend 2 hours upgrading Horizons just to log in for 2 minutes to get my ship back was ridiculous.

It should appear as an icon, yes, but sometimes it doesn't. This is only true if your ship was not destroyed, though.

If your ship was destroyed you have to re-buy it. And I see you're having problems finding a manned Intra-Astra. In that case, you'd have to contact support (or log into Horizons, if you have it installed).

Thanks, definitely a ticket I think. The manned Inter Astra I found didn't offer any chance to rebuy.

nice..

yep it bites

all we can do is hope they have all this type of stuff fixed, preferably before they force 4.0 on us.
I for one do not like all the extra effort one has to go to because of lack of complete routines, broken loops
I would prefer to just stay in Horizons and keep my settings at Ultra
I can run 3 accounts on this pc at the same time in Ultra, but in EDO, barely 1 on low.

I still think my first guess of it taking them 4 years to get EDO to the state of EDH is correct, this is year 1 and I still have to have my graphics cranked to vr low just to be able to read text on the display, any and all other modes, it is fuzzy or foggy or otherwise impossible to read.
sooo, 2-3 more years, probably try to force 4 on us by May next year...that will still suck.

I refuse to play with higher settings as I see only explosions look nicer and it already melted my best video card thanks to settlements that make your PC squeal.

I only use EDO for the extra BGS punch it has and to be able to follow anything new, otherwise I honestly can't speak. It is so bad in so many ways and I hate being negative.

Probably of no help, but...

I attempted a retrieval of some item from a wreck and, when I landed, I managed to be inside the wreckage (yep, I know). I disembarked and was still inside it. I ran a few tens of metres and turned - both my ship and the wreckage had completely disappeared, on the suit scanner and visually.

I tried a relog but that just showed me as marooned on the planet - no ship, no wreckage.

I had to install Horizons and switch to it. When I logged back in, hey preseto, I was in my ship. I relogged back to Odyssey and finished the mission.
