Newcomer / Intro Help with Binding File

I am trying to get into Exploration and wanted to setup the FSSscanner but I can't find a location in the Options \ Controls area to switch it on!?!

All the guides I have seen, say it is at the top of the group, but I can't find it

Any ideas?

The binding to switch to the FSS is in another section. I think it is in a section called "Mode Switches" or something similar. Also don't forget to bind the "Leave FSS" option in the FSS section.

It was originally at the top of the FSS section but then some bright spark at Frontier decided to move it since it says "mode".

Since "Leave FSS" doesn't have the word "mode" in it then it stayed where it was.

I have 'F' bound to both enter and leave - makes it a toggle.

Yes, use the same key to enter and leave. FD must have been suffering brain fade when they didn't think of that.

I found that the FSS works really well with just the mouse. Use the scroll-wheel button to enter and leav FSS mode, the scroll wheel for tuning, the mouse movement for X and Y yaw and pitch, and the left and right clicks to zoom in and out. It's very quick and convenient like that. It works for VR too.

I might try that. I use the numeric keypad to move around. It works well enough but that mouse control looks more efficient

I went straight in and mapped my mouse-wheel I'll play later, but it had to be done!

Sounds good, especially with VR..... could I ask for a screen shot of your settings for that part of the controls? I find it easier if I have a reference

In this vid starting 8:45. I made this before i figured out that i had a scroll button, so just click the scroll button for enter FSS mode under mode switches and leave FSS in this section.You can have mouse and joystick controls for the FSS at the same time, so you can keep what you have and just add the mouse controls.

Top tip. Works a treat. I had to tune the sensitivity, and map l-r to wheel up-down intuitively. Easy.
