Help with buildings and water

Greetings!

So I am building a building/3 habitats. Basically the building is sunken in the ground so the guests in the building can watch the animals underwater. However, spite there being a wall and glass in between the inner building and the habitat, the building keeps filling up with water when I go to fill water in the habitats. There are no holes and the building is sunken enough that there are no water coming from below. If I prevent the water from reaching the building walls (with dirt) it stops flooding the building, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having an under water view. I simple can't figure out what is wrong as I have build underwater viewing before. Any help is much appreciated.

Below are pictures of how its look currently. Apologise for the two links but they were 70 KB off the allowed space.

Did you actually use habitat fences as well or is the whole thing made of construction pieces? Because if so that won't work as those pieces can't contain water. You have to use a barrier like the glass fence or concrete wall to keep the water inside.

I’ve only made them a couple times for my hippos. Each time I used a method similar to PaulsLeys video so I’m yet to try a building so I can’t offer much help on this one. I’ll have to try it sometime I imagine you’d have to use a regular habitat barrier and build the building around that. Lately I’ve been kinda lazy and prefer to use a deck over the water as it’s less tedious and easier.

As Nioell wrote, it looks like your are mostly using construction pieces.

Just place a glas-barrier the same way all around. If you do it carefully you can place it inside your wall-pieces and also match the curvature.
Just be patient.
When you place a barrier you have several options on the right.
I suggest that you use in your case the right one for "Height Mode" , and move the pillars of your barrier into the ground.
You can play around with the options, to see which lenght option fits.

I think it's because you haven't completed the habitat barrier, before adding water.

Can't fylly explain it anymore - haven't made one in a while.

I think this one is one of the most simple explanations.

As soon as your said habitat barrier I facepalmed, since that's exactly what I forgot.

Yup that was the problem, no habitat fence. To be fair its kinda odd a brick/concrete wall can't keep water out, but a habitat concrete wall can.

Yeah you have to use glass or concrete habitat fence apparently a concrete wall can't do it lol.

Done and it works, never had problem placing fence. Now see paths that's a different thing. So easily to get frustrated trying to place a path.

You seem to have figured it out, but yeah, the best way to do it is to build the habitat barrier first and then line up your building as best you can with the barrier if you want it enclosed. (y)
