Help with Empire Rank

Need some help guy's, I have enough for a Clipper but my rank with the Empire is at none :/

I did some research and here's what I did. Perhaps someone can let me know where I am going wrong.

1. Flew to HIP 22500 (War Zone). Parked up my Type-7 in a nearby system, bought a Cobra and fully kitted it out.

2. Checked the Bulletin board, took missions to deliver combat stabilizers & weapons for the Navy. (Both completed succesfuly)

3. Killed a bunch of pro independence ships for the war missions.

4. Headed out to Cartu & Priva, another post said they are good for missions. Ended spending the last few hours Killing Elite Anaconda's for a lot of Money.

My rank is still none!! What do I have to do? Am heading back to the Warzone again, can't seem to get any Navy missions no matter where I land.

Can any one help?

Thanks Kirk, I had already checked out that thread. I thought those combat stabilizer missions where part of rank progression?

The rank missions come from the Imperial Liason, look out for those, the reward should also stated as "Rank Progression".

Well - for me, it was just finding that initaial rank progression mission, after that, they kept trickling in from all the stations I had friendly standings with - made it from nothing (yesterday morning) to Earl (this afternoon).

Judging from what I've read, we seem to be capped at earl atm.

I hope there's a Duke, a really want to be a Duke. Considered renaming to Harkonnen and staying a Baron for ever.

something I found odd was although all I have done is bounty hunting in anarchy systems near Lave I have a 'friendly' status with the empire and several factions in Codorain! This is where I go to cash in my empire bounties! I flew there an noticed green targets all over the place and the station there was green too.

My standings with federation and alliance is still neutral, maybe coz I have cashed there bounties in at different random locations, not sure.

Found Wong Guin in imperial space, did a mission for imperial society and got an imperial liaison mission which started me onmy career path, first mission was a smuggle, second mission was a take x to point a mission, back at Wong, no more career missions but a few for society to complete. Its now a green station for me, otherwise known as home

There was a Duke in Elite 2 (it was Earl, Marquis, Duke, Prince iirc) - given how easy it was to rise through the ranks, I think cutting the progression at some point makes sense or we'd all be princes by now...

Personally, I think I'd deliberately stop at Marquis. MARQUIS CATPAIN - I like the sound of that

Find a dictatorship system. They tend to give the first rank up. The ones after that come quickly.
