help with firepower comparison class 1 class 2 and class 3 weapons..

Currently flying an asp.. with 4 class 1 burst lasers and 2 class 2 multicannons

i badly want to buy an clipper...(finnaly a new ship...and clipper is next on the ship price table) and will be able to with outfitt in a few hours it seems


now i ask myself how much more firepower does an clipper have over an asp?

till now i said to myself 2 class 1 =1 class 2 2 class 2 = class 3 weapon

so my asp would have 4 class 2 while the clipper class 3 downgraded to class 2 would have 6 class 2

so the firepower is not even doubled ... is that right???

or are the diffences between tiers higher than 2 low=1 high ?


EDIT: lets say all gimball im no fann of fixed weapons the more damage it would bring i waste by missing

thx man... boy if this is correct its even worse than 2X..... feeling bit sad now hoped it will be a nice upgrade but it seems like the first real upgrade will be the phyton

Just as you find gimballed weapons more effective, in practice, than fixed, you may find that the higher speed, and agility of the Clipper makes it an upgrade from the Asp.

ok i got the clipper...it is an upgrade.. it has an higher power distributor(class 6 as has only class 4) i got 4 lasers and can fire them nearly constant ..no more ammo needs the things just plop
with 3 chaff launcher und 2 shield cells banks intense combat zones are realy funn plop plop plop plop just made 1.76 million in the last 20-30 minuts

and the speed and turning is nice too even with 1 blip in engines

no bad start for my low budge clipper i love it
