For the sake of me i cannot find it used the miners tool and detailed surface scanner and here is the thing when I make it to the hotspot I use my prospector limpetes on a lot of rocks to no avail and I’m in the hotspot but finding absolutely zero painite is there some kind of trick or something I’m missing could use some help..?

In Metallic rings you find all four occurences of Painit, in Metal rich rings only the cores.

Did you use the Pusle Wave scanner before setting the prospector drones on the bright yellow asteroids?

Scan ring with DSS
Find hotspots.
Visit appropriate hotspot (select one in darkness, e.g. shadow, you see the yellow colors better)).

Get rid of any lurking pirates

Ping the pulse wave scanner

Sic the prospector on the very bright yellow ones looking like a teardrop

If they contain a core, blow them up with the seismic charges.

Collect the fragments, free any surface sdeposits with the abrasion blaster.
You can also shoot at the fragments with the mining laser, but this usually will not yield the core material.
Repeat

If the storage is full, fly home, do not visit another hotspot, you will certainly meet pirates then.

Kids these days mine Platinum and Osmium as they yield much more per hour. That is laser mining only.

And as above. Go to metallic rings

Ring A most times not ring B...
Those who can post images normaly notice a few mins AFTER they post that the ring is labelled Ring B then edit the topic... as they are in the wrong ring..

Thank u been looking everywhere for painite imma try and remember all this I been in the core rings without sismec charges plus I have no clue we’re to get them

You find them in Outfitting -> Hardpoints -> Mining equipment

In this page, enter the system (not the station) you are currently in into the field "Reference System" on the left lower side.
Then selct find stations.

It will give you a list which station nearest to you sell seismic charges.
You might want to by Abresion Blasters too.

Bear in mind that you need a ship with at least medium (size 2) hardpoints, like a Cobra or a Keelback (my preferred choice).
A Sidewinder or a Transporter Type 6 (and some other ships) cannot be equipped with seismic charge launchers and therefore cannot be used for core mining (there are no small seismic charges, which is an ongoing joke in this forum). Without size 2 hardpoints the seismic scharges won't even be offered to you in outfitting.
