Help with streaming in VR

Hi Guys,

I purchased an I7 7700K because I was told it would be good for streaming with a minimal performance hit. Can anyone give some advice or post links to the best way to get setup for streaming on youtube or twitch.

Basically just want to record my sessions, not interested in attracting viewers or setting up donation buttons and all that junk.

Thanks

You say you want to record your sessions and you don't care about viewers, so do you want to stream or record (then post later)? If you're just looking to make recordings, use Shadowplay in nvidia geforce experience. OBS is great software that has both streaming and recording modes. If you go the OBS route, just do a quick internet search and you'll find plenty of threads with suggested settings. With your CPU you'll have no problems cranking things up.

Hi mate, last time I used shadowplay it was like a virus, major CPU hog with VR, did a google search and was causing issues even on high end rigs. What I'm looking for is to record and automatically upload my sessions to my twitch or youtube channel. Am not a streamer in the sense that I'm looking for viewers, just want to have it all stored online.

cheers

OBS

This dude uses OBS to stream AC, which I think is the car sim equivalent to ED.

It might not be what you need, but at least the video is succinct.

So, what are your intentions then?

I've had no issues with Shadowplay, however I did have issues with OBS which for some reason was ignoring the bit rate settings regarless of what I set it at. I probably missed a setting somewhere though as it's not super user friendly.

Hmm, I would need to do some research on PC programs to automatically upload to twitch/yt. But if you're not going to do any editing, you might as well just record with OBS and upload the raw file. Again, do an internet search and you'll find the optimal settings for recording. Make sure you've got plenty of storage space.
