Help!

I'm trying to find a dedicated forum for tech support, but its not readily obvious where it is, so I am posting this here. Sorry, I'm trying to do this fast while I take care of a 10 month old.

Anyway, I just bought in as a Premium beta backer and downloaded the alpha. When I run the game, it opens in a window all the way in the right corner of my monitor. I am able to drag and resize the window, but the menu interface runs extremely slowly. Then when I try to alter the graphics settings, every time I click "ACCEPT," I get a CTD. Thoughts, suggestions, help?

Thanks.

Intel Core i&-3370 @3.40GHz
12 GB RAM
Windows 8 64-bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX650 Ti

yeah it does, but its not the greatest and is pretty much the bare minimum. always feel that if you are going to get a card £200+ should be a minimum, its not a personal attack its just an opinion. but I know your pain, Any Alpha can be a pain when things don't work when you know that it works perfectly fine for others. for me Multiplayer until 3.4 has always been problematic.

I'm running on an X51 that's got a 550 in it and it runs fine. Will be upgrading for release of full game but atm its OK.

Anyone seen this kind of a problem reported any place else? I run the most graphics intensive programs on the highest settings typically. Crysis 3, Crysis 2, Arma 3, DCS titles, etc. etc. This one should run fine...

Can you try reducing it abit to 1680x1050, see what happens.

I'll do that now. Very frustrating though. I installed it onto my back-up system which is similar, but inferior to my main PC and would you believe it runs great? The main difference is the back-up PC runs Kaspersky whereas my main PC runs Norton. Could that be the problem?

Its offline once you log in so I dont think it would matter. But I'm no expert on that.

I'm just thinking that the game might be auto setting to a resolution too high for your GPU and causing a crash.

Reducing your screen res will reduce the games launch res and might make it more stable.

Changing the desktop screen resolution unfortunately did not solve the problem. System specs for the back-up PC where it is working is as follows:

Intel Core i7 @2.80GHz
8 GB
Windows 7 64-bit (other system is Windows 8)
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (other system is a GeForce GTX 650 Ti)

So main differences are OS and video card...

I had similar problems at first, when I played on my laptop.
I was trying to play the game on a secondary monitor (not the laptop primary one)

I worked around the problem by disabling the laptop primary monitor and using only on the secondary one. (when running Elite)

I don't know if you have 2 monitors plugged in, but if you do, try disabling one of them?

You, my friend, are totally on to something. I only have one monitor plugged in. However, when I go to my screen resolution settings, it shows that I have two. The actual monitor is set as the no. 2 monitor and it is set as the main display. The other monitor that actually does not even exist is set as the no. 1 display and is off to the upper right corner...exactly where the game window opens. I moved the little monitor to the bottom right and ran the game and the window opened on the bottom right...clearly the game is trying to run in the little monitor that does not exist. How do I get rid of that stupid thing?
