Herbig Ae/Be - How Common?

Good evening fellow Explorers,

Just wondered how common Herbig Ae/Be's actually are?

I only ask as on my stroll back home I plotted a route and one of the stops along the way landed me face to face with one.

This is the complete system and needless to say I even scanned the Ice.

Certainly was a nice surprise, also noticed it spun pretty quickly.

According to Elite Wiki: -

Legendary (More common in the galactic center)

But are they, Legendary, that is?

Nearly 7k systems explored and I've only come across 2. Both were found in systems with stars listed as an O type I believe.

Very common - in some places.

Find a younger region of the galaxy, or rather, a region where star formation is plentiful, turn on protostar filter, start hovering over protostars. Perhaps one in ten to one in twenty is a Herbig, others TTS.

As CMDR Kalpa says filter out all but the protostars and search through those...looking at my log i have found 9 in the last week of exploration

Is that 9 Ae/Be or T's?

The only surprise with this find was that it was only ~8k from SOL.

Even if they are more common than first thought, it's a new one for me.

Regards
