Herbig Ae/Be Star Discovered - Replay

Hey fellow explorers!

So, on my way back from a passenger run out to Colonia I discovered a Herbig Ae/Be star. From what I have read these are pretty rare, but just how rare are they?

Hiya Cmdr

I’m on my way back from an area a fair way past Colonia , I came across dozens of Herbig Stars out there closer to the galactic core , even had a binary Herbig system.
They are quite the site aren’t they ?
I think they’re far more rare closer to the bubble.

Indeed they are! I'd never seen one before. In fact, I never knew they existed. When the stellar class was displayed on hyperspace I almost aborted to read it twice.

These are the high-mass versions of T-Tauri stars. They are the protostars for B-class and A-class stars. They are more rare because of the high mass requirements, often replacing O-type, B-type, or black holes in sector maps.

EDSM's statistics says we know about 6100 of them.

If you want a real challenge, find an unmarked carbon star, M-type, MS-type, or some water giants.

Also, here's a fun Herbig system I just found. That's two Herbigs (with a distant B-class), and: three terraformable HMCs, four water-based life bearing gas-giants, and two water worlds.

I miss the old Herbig's and the way they used to spin. They seemed much more unique and interesting then.

Ignore the sound on that vid, I have no idea what my girlfriend was watching, lol. I found this one on my way back from the Abyssal Plains. It was particularly rare then because most Herbigs were more whitish back then but this one was red/orange.

They're quite rare. Found around 20 or so i think in my ~17000 systems visited. So definetley a nice find.

So, I surveyed the entire system. It had 2 T-Tauri proto stars and two gas giants with life, water and ammonia based. I had hoped some of the darker planets near the B-class would be metal-rich, but no luck.

I am fully behind exploration as game play. It was one of the things that drew me to E:D in the first place, and it hasn't disappointed me yet. I appreciate the Stellar Forge engine's moderate adherence to known astrophysics. It ... gets creative some times, but even so. One of these days I'll take a jaunt out to Trappist 1.

Compared to most other stars they are rarer, alltough its not too dificult to find some herbigs. The hardest part about that is that they are bundled together with the Tauris in the filter who like to cluster up the map making it easy to overlook herbigs.

I have that problem as well. I wish FDev would give us a filter for just Ae/Be.
