Herbig Ae/Be star?

Hi,

Has anyone else come across Herbig Ae/Be stars? I hadn't even heard of them until today when I came across one, it was white and spinning very fast. There were 9 T-Tauri stars (amongst other things) orbiting it (not as binary).

I'm on my way to another one now in a very interesting system that should have a very special view, but it's a long way from where I am - I already jumped into a Neutron star by accident on the way, and I can see a Carbon star along tomorrow's route...so this is turning out to be a fun exploration trip!

I really enjoy finding new star types along my trip. :)

Never heard of those! I've yet to run into any particularly intresting star types and would love to find a neutron star or black hole. All I get are the usual crop of F, G, K and M types or the occasional O and A.

I've ran across a couple before, also spinning fast like you described. I believe they are similar to some T Tauri's except they have more mass and a different spectral type.

Im currently hunting those myself, lovly aint they. 8 times out of 10 they yeld amazing systems too

It was amazing enough that I was tempted to rush back to inhabited space to stake my claim. I'm glad I didn't though otherwise I would never have seen the Carbon star I've got lined up for tomorrow!

And the system I'm heading to next will probably blow the one I just left out of the water...if I can get there that is!

Carbon stars come in some interesting shades from red to purple, I've visited stars of the MS, S, CN, and C classes in my quest to see every type of star. :)

Yep, I ran into them several times. Even found a system consisting almost exclusively of them.

They're awesome, aren't they? :)

Then run back if you didn't see tags. ;)
I was there a month ago and still haven't come back to civilization. Here's your chance! :D

But nebulae are so attractive a target that you don't have much of a chance to be the first, though. Better stick to the fringes. :)
