Herbivore Pack (Critically Endangered)

  • Kouprey: The kouprey (Bos sauveli) is an Indochinese wild bovid that was described in 1937 from one that was sent to the Zoo de Vincennes (Paris). But the human being has almost exterminated it already. None seen since 1983. It is estimated that there should not be more than 250 animals

  • Somali Wild Donkey: There are likely fewer than 1,000 animals (or even 700) in the wild

  • Addax: Fewer than 500 individuals are thought to exist in the wild

  • Dama gazelle: The IUCN now lists it as critically endangered with a wild population of less than 500 (the most recent review suggests c. 300)

These are cool animals! The Mongolian Wild (or Prezwaslski's) Horse is another candidate, imo. There is only one equid species currently in the game. They are a comeback success story, thanks to captive breeding in zoos, but there are still only a couple thousand in the wild.

But it's so hard to choose. I'm kind of surprised how relatively unpopular some of the grazing species are in the game. Aside from giraffes and the Bactrian camels, guests don't seem to care for them, not even the rare and cool-looking okapi draws much interest. I assume the game numbers come from real-life zoo data, but I always enjoyed watching these animals.

I would love this sort of pack!
I would swap the Kouprey for Banteng only as they are already in zoos and maybe add Lowland Anoa
