Here is the way to ship a ship the ED way

After spending some time over at the ED Shipyard and playing with a bunch of numbers, this is what I have come up with. It still needs a bit of work to flesh out but I think it's a solid base to start from.

Code:
Ship (Tonnage) What it can haul What it needs to be hauled
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hauler(14T) Cannot haul another ship Requires S4 Rack to be shipped
Sidewinder(25T) Cannot haul another ship Requires S5 Rack to be shipped
Adder(35T) Cannot haul another ship Requires S6 Rack to be shipped
Eagle(50T) Cannot haul another ship Requires S6 Rack to be shipped
Viper(60T) Cannot haul another ship Requires S6 Rack to be shipped
T6(155T) 2x S5 + 2x S4 Requires S8 Rack to be shipped
Cobra(180T) 3x S4 Requires S8 Rack to be shipped
Asp(280T) S6 + S5 Too big to ship at present
Python(350T) 3x S6 + 2x S5 + S4 Too big to ship at present
Anaconda(400T) S7 + 3x S6 + 3x S5 + 3x S4 Too big to ship at present
Clipper(400T) S7 + S6 + 2x S4 Too big to ship at present
T7(420T) 2x S6 + 2x S5 + 2x S4 Too big to ship at present
Dropship(580T) S6 + 2x S5 + S4 Too big to ship at present
Orca(580T) S6 + 3x S5 + S4 Too big to ship at present
T9(1000T) S8 + S7 + S6 + S5 + 2x S4 Too big to ship at present

Compartment Size 8 (S8 Rack) up to 256T
Compartment Size 7 (S7 Rack) up to 128T
Compartment Size 6 (S6 Rack) up to 64T
Compartment Size 5 (S5 Rack) up to 32T
Compartment Size 4 (S4 Rack) up to 16T

Due to the physical constraints of the technology used and legal requirements involved in the transporting of another ship, only one ship can be transported per shipping container.

Although the S7 Rack is currently redundant (no ships in size between 64T and 128T) its use may be needed in the future as new ship types become available.

Should a ship larger than a T9 be produced for civilian use, and it contains a Size 9 compartment (512 T), the following ships would be able to be carried as cargo: Asp, Python, Anaconda, Clipper, and T7.

The number of ships able to be transported in the list above is theoretical. Any Commander transporting the ship of a third party must meet the following conditions:

* The transporting ship must have a properly rated and functional shield module installed
* The transporting ship's Commander must carry full insurance buyback on his/her own ship
* Additionally, the transporting ship's Commander is required to carry the insurance buyback of each ship that he/she transports PLUS the full amount not covered by insurance

The following applies for those requesting a ship transfer:

* The processing, loading, and unloading of ships to be transported requires specialized equipment and personnel. Therefore, the transportation of your ship can only be done between stations that contain a proper shipyard. Requests for shipment or shipment status must also be done at a proper shipyard.
* Minimum shipping distance is 25 LY and a maximum of 250 LY
* There will be a 5%, non-refundable, processing fee on each ship readied for transportation regardless if any transportation happens in the allotted time-frame chosen
* Ship owners will be able to set their own bounties for safe ship delivery (which will be automatically processed upon delivery by the distant end shipyard staff) provided that: 1. Bounties are a minimum of 5,000 credits and 2. bounties are in an even multiple of 5,000 credits. Suggested bounty: 5,000 credits per 25 LY shipped plus ship value consideration.

OK wolfpack, tear it apart :D.
