Here we go again! 89 Military Grade Alloys : Zero Military Supercapacitors! AGAIN!!!

Last 2 hours I have picked up over 40 in BUNDA.
I zoom past the main star ,up to 1200 Ls away then turn around and attack again. Found HGE from 500 Ls to just over 1000 Ls.

HAH!

Last night I was doing the Alioth runs, exiting 78 Ursae Majoris A 1 and I noticed a HGE, been scanning USSs in "usual gameplay" instead of actively searching for the last 5 days and it was the first one I've seen in that time, jumped on in and Proto Heat Rads, okay I need Radiolics and have 80 of these, but I won't punch a Gift Horse in the ear...

Already throttled to zero when I jumped in and checked the contacts tab, open up my Hatch and fly passed the materials and debris, oops must've been going a bit fast... head back to the debris and materials, ship feels a bit sluggish, dammit overshot.
Face the debris and materials again, doing 19, okay. Debris and materials fly passed me like a Huge Frag Cannon shot... What the hell... At this point, I notice we're ~1.20Mm above the surface and this HGE, the first I've seen in a while is caught in the damn gravitational pull! In the voice and tone of Adam Sandler, I openly say "Are you kidding me?!!".

The next 6mins are me actively in try-hard mode, muttering "f&$% you FDev and your *** b******* RN**Gesus" repeatedly.
Then 1min of realising that the gravitational pull of the planet, the sway of my ship's nose and lack of damn Collector Limpets means this is an absolute bust.
Then a final minute in "give no s**** mode activated" before the traditional free-look shake head like a crazy person before hitting "J", closing my Cargo Hatch and ignoring every other USS for the next 2 hours.

Can't be that hard to get, Iv got 32 MSC & I don't recall even going after them....& I only enter threat level 0 USS's. (Though I still can't understand why Threat Level 0 sometimes means getting attacked by 3 ship's, that's not Threat Level 0!!!!)

How is the avarage Joe supposed to know this without google detective work? Broken in my opinion.

It's pretty basic logic though isn't it? I've been relatively successful figuring out what type of economies/states are more likely to produce different components by reading the descriptions... then having a brief think about what different economies/states produce or consume. So... military grade materials... those might come from military type ships, the wreckage of which are going to be more common in systems that are involved in a conflict... it really isn't rocket science now is it? I've found loads of both the supercapacitors and alloys from combat aftermath USS's in war/civil war systems.

If in doubt Inara. No great Google detective work there.

Trusty, reliable, inexpensive Asp Scout.

You have got to be kidding me! Again I find myself looking for Military Supercapacitors....

AGAIN I have found only HGEs with Military Grade Alloys in two system giving me a total of 89 MGAs now! an ZERO MSCs... :O

I had enough of this last week! I'm REALLY NOT AMUSED WITH THIS RNG! IT TOTALLY SUCKS.

FDev for the Love of All that is HOLY - Split these two types of HGEs up at the very least!

If I have to fly around in sodding circles for hours, I want to at least find what I came looking for... Not a succession of unending MGAs...

And before I get lectured to go to the Mats trader again. I only get 1 MSC for every 6 MGA. So not exactly to my advantage is it. Fix the damned RNG!

It would seem to indicate that where you are looking is the wrong place? government type might be wrong?

What does the tooltip say? what is your search based on?

Military Grade Capacitors and Military Grade Alloys Full at Atiusia now! System must be at war , high populated , alliance and controlling faction in war

UGH! Sorry to hear that you are still dealing with this.

May I ask what you are upgrading that requires so many Super Capacitors? Just curious since I don't seem to be using mine up much at all.

As far as the spawn rates go... I did notice that my Polonium reserves were getting on the low side so I decided to head down to my planet of choice for Polonium and I too was having a terrible time finding any.

This was the same planet that provided me with my original 220+ units of Polonium I amassed in the days leading up to the 3.0 release.

So once again, despite what I keep reading in the various point update patch notes, the spawn rates of many of the HGE materials as well as apparently keystone G5 Raw Materials has gone way down from previous versions of the game. They have definitely not gone up or even stayed the same as 2.4 levels.

FDEV really needs to make this right ASAP! Most sensible folks are able to see that the advantages of the new 3.0 engineering and materials system far outweigh any downsides. Provided of course that the various materials and data are readily available and not locked away behind some fabricated, artificial scarcity situation.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was some sort of mechanic in game that would allow you to minimize the effects of this rng in a practical manner?

Yep something like signal sources scanner... same principal like Advanced Discovery Scanner.

I recently maxed out on Military Super Capacitors in Bunda, and it was fairly easy.

The system is at war. There are, as I recall, 3 or 4 stars. I focused on star A, and experimented with distances and coordinates from the star.

I all 3 dimensions, including directly above and below the orbital plane of the solar system, I was able to find HGEs in any direction from star A between about 180 LS and 1200 LS away from it. I could go directly toward or away from star A, or surf the orbital lines at the appropriate distances.

I also maxed out on Military Alloys (grade 5, can't remember the correct name right now) and Imperial Shielding, another grade 5 material.

Right now, I'm having trouble with Pharmaceutical Isolators. I'm in a system in the Outbreak state but I cannot find a single HGE. Any guidance would be appreciated. I'm near the Kamadhenu and Ugrivirii systems right now.

I believe that you've got the best chance of getting them in Independent or Alliance systems (as there is a lower chance of other items to drop in these systems). But if you can't find any HGE, try dropping to normal space and then back to supercruise, or even trying a different game mode.

You are so unlucky it's almost funny. Sorry. rofl. (naturally, I'm assuming that mil supercaps aren't something else that disappeared or got 'balanced' yesterday morning. ;) )

I'd laugh if they did. I had 97 of them last week; for three points take a wild guess what I was trying to collect when I acquired them.

I'm sure Sandro will be along shortly to remind us again how much he values our time.

...other than military grade alloys, which have exactly the same chance of dropping in those systems. Which is the problem.

I have caped millitary supercapacitors twice now (in the process of third time). Basically trading them in for bio conductors and EFC and other mats that are a lot more harder to get. (not even sure i will ever use them just wanna cape them all before drop rates changes (nerf))

Go to Independant / war / law: anarchy / atleast 1 mil pop / no pp

example from eddb as sol as the guide
system aravaledi pops up 70ish ly from sol
its the system id go too first. but before i go i make sure the info is correct via galaxy map and it meets all those conditions
also while in the system make sure it doesnt change, if it does find another one.
Will you get more M SC ??? No clue we are still ruled by RNG ED Gods.
I've collected over 200+ so the conditions are working for me.
