No idea... Does it give you special powers? In game currency?... I never was, and don't plan on becoming, an achievement promiscuous person (for lack of using more colorful words). I've known people that would go out and buy "Barbie Pony Princess Adventures" just for achievements.

Is that out already?!? heard it got postponed.
I usually check out the achievements after playing for a good while,
look at them as suggestions, there's usually a few that point toward gameplay I hadn't considered yet,
and end up good fun.

Yep. Sometime since around 2006. I went in to purchase "Over G Fighters" (Xbox 360 combat flight sim type game) and was asked by the cashier "Are you sure you want to purchase that game? It is more of a sim." Look buddy, don't tell me how to spend my money... especially as me spending this money justifies the job you are currently working. I looked around, and I was the only one in the store and I gave him a rant, that included in some sort of way, that his enjoyment of "Barbie Pony Princess Adventures" had no bearing or affect on my life or enjoyment of the games I like to play.
It stuck. Some friends and I always reference "Barbie Pony Princess Adventures" when we don't like a game, someone complains a game is too hard, etc... etc... pretty much whenever we can. It is still funny almost 10 years later.
I'm not one of those people who farm gamerscore, but sometimes it can give you something extra to play for in a game, or can help point you towards something slightly different in a game. I use it as a way of getting a bit extra out of games I like.
I think I'm at about 9/95 or something like that. I've been out in the black since before the game launched, so I haven't had time to get most of the achievements.
