This post is not about any missing or recently added feature or a dig at FD

We all know that Frontier Developments do not want to show us a road map of what content is coming for whatever reason. We can all speculate till the cows come home about what this reason is, at the end of the day it actually doesn't matter.

they have their reasons and they are probably very valid.

My suggestion is, instead of telling us what's coming, why not let us know what, from the DDA or the original concept, has been dropped.

If you know feature 'X' isn't going to be in the game (at least for the foreseeable) then as soon as you decide to drop said idea, let us know not to expect feature 'X' .

Might save a lot of disappointment in the long run.

just a thought.

Whilst I agree in principle, in reality this would just create a forum of posts on why "x" has been dropped. Perhaps they should do it anyway and get the carnage out of the way.

This would certainyl help a lot of us to make a decision on sticking around to see what is coming and moving on with our lives.

If the community knew what wasn't coming they could stop feeling the need to watch the forums, so then when a negative topic comes up that they agree/disaggree with, they wouldn't be posting and increasing the negative feedback all over FDevs forums.

I just think it would save a lot of disappointment in the long run .. If we are waiting on and discussing features that FD knew were already on the cutting floor it would be a good idea to let people know ASAP to avoid claims of wrongdoing and deceit on FD's part.

I just think telling us how much extra free content we can expect.

For me, the most obvious missing thing (apart from my beloved Orrery View, sniff) is the NPC and passenger missions. It may just have been pie in the sky stuff in the DDF, but IMO it would a lot to the game, which currently feels too dry and stat-heavy for my taste. Perhaps they're waiting till the walking-around-on-ships expansion, where you'd obviously need animated character models and combat etc...
