Hesperus quest: best ship build

Looking back at the Hesperus adventure, what ship should you fly when you:
  • don't have an FC?
  • do have an FC?
I would want to go there asap, and have the FC catch up to resupply.
For both, you want an exploration ship with great jump range, fuel scoop and all that.
Limpet controllers and cargo for limpets, SRV ...
Anything else?

So DBX or Krait Phantom?

Whenever you need to closely inspect something, bring a Viper IV. It handles great, gets where you need to go, can fit all you need and still jumps 40+ly. That or a Phantom.

All you need is a ship you feel comfortable flying a couple thousand lightyears in, and cargo space for 10 tons of VOs as your reward. I'd also suggest a medium pad to be able to easily sell those VOs at the best price. The Asp Explorer and Krait Phantom make the most logical sense, but a DBX, Dolphin, or T6, can work, with each having their own advantages and disadvantages being budget builds. You could also use a Hauler, but the cargo will heavily impact jump range.

I have a python, the Raza, that’s built for mega ship or station shinanigans and has a full suite recon, hatch breakers, etc as well being armed and ready to hold its own if needed.

It has a range of just over 40 LY so it’s good for short range exploration like this with a size 6 fuel scoop and size 5 Guardian FSD booster.

I like using it for events with megaships or ground installations where you’re not sure if we’ll have combat or not.
