Don't know, but I know if that was an Octagon I would be very worried having it so close to dear old Sol !!!

That looks a lot like weather that we couldn't necessarily expect to persist for 1300 years.

If gas giant weather can produce such regular features we should see them somewhere in game, it'd be cool if the model for gas giants allowed it. Anyone seen similar anywhere? I haven't.

It seems like they're pretty sure it does, it has something to do with varying wind speed bands on saturn causing a turbulence pattern in the clouds at the pole. The hexagon moves and shifts within its boundaries, but the pattern is always there.

Well, that "recreation" is indeed interesting and kudos to those who did it.
But it by no means does it expalin the 4 earth sized pattern on Saturn.
This recreation seems to be in about a bucket sized container using some
very viscous liquid. Even if you make it just twice as large, it would not work due to the extra
randomness introduced, nor if you were to use a gas ....
