the Alliance Rapid-Reaction Corps (ARRC) would be happy to welcome you. We are a friendly bunch of mostly well seasoned CMDRs, and engage in PvE, PvP, BGS, and some exploration too. As a relatively small player faction, we hold presence in 30 systems in the middle of the bubble, so you can tell we are not only quite active but also good at what we do. We are always happy to help out new CMDRs.
