Hey Devs, I really love what's been done so far, Bravo!

This will be a fantastic game in the end and for a long time to come!
However I do believe a grid or grid snap option to help place paths, objects, etc., would be a great improvement!
Maybe this is in the works, but I've not the time to pore through all the forums to find out!
I know it's just an alpha for now, but some of the old school stuff would help us old codgers, he he!

Something I find funny, and not to belittle your thoughts and request...

I laugh a little inside every time someone wants to work with a grid, or asks for square path corners.
For years people have wanted this game to get off the grid, and have curved paths.
People are still complaining that walls are still tied to the grid.
If they removed the grid for walls, people would want it back.

So, yeah...[hehe]

For paths, make sure you have the angle snap set to 45 or 90 degrees (it helps make square paths easier) it will take some getting used to and still needs improvements in many aspects (like with stairs/hills etc.) many people have requested this so it helps to use the search and try to keep like ideas together. What!? I don't believe this is true and even if a few are claiming that then they are crazy [rolleyes] the current system is pretty damn good and will be even better soon!

This is true and even is ironic, but no need to laugh at the OP. It has been requested multiple times and in my opinion would be a decent "optional" feature for those that want it, especially in certain aspects like lamp or bench placement. I understand it might be a lot to ask for both options/features of a grid + no grid system combined. It might not even be necessary once everybody gets used to the change. But there is no need to be condescending. [cool]

Nobody said they wants them removed completely, it would obviously be an option (but that's off topic)

I am not trying to be condescending. Don't read too far into my comment, it was meant in a lighthearted manner.

It is I ironic, and irony IS often funny.

Really my request is for placing objects along the paths, like benches, lights, trash cans.
I've built some caves, I've a hard time seeing and placing lights on the path.
Seems to me it would take much less time to have a grid following the path for placing stuff!
Once again not a big deal, just thought an option for grids could be Cool!

A full grid might not be necessary, but a PATH grid could totally work. Even with the "rounded paths" and the angle snap feature, a grid for paths would still be very helpful, for lamps, benches, etc. But also for placing walls or fences around a curved path.

Yes, a grid for the paths would be a welcome addition. I would also like to change the curvature of the path's corner, since every path gets a rounded off corner and sometimes I really don't want them to do that.

Interesting, others have talked about this before and I don't know why people make it sound like it has to be so complicated. What you suggested (sharp edge/corners) is exactly like how the "pool" feature was in RCT3 Soaked! Sharp, curved, jagged, triangular, I think it had others too but yea... [up]
