Hey FDEV, what's happening at the Titan sites?

Hey FDEV,
can you please explain us what's happening at the Titan sites after Update 16?
Before the update it was possible to hunt interceptors there, detection was based on the ship heat and distance from the interceptor. So, an experienced Pilot with a low emission ship, was able to stay undetected most of the time. After U16 I'm pulling aggro from every interceptor within 4km (orthruses excluded), no matter the ship heat. It seems they now detect you based on the line of sight, so hunting there is now almost impossible.

This is how it was before U16:

And this is after U16:

Can you please clarify what's happening there?
Thanks

That's - disappointing. Was that after 16 or 16.1? (I haven't been there since 15, just wondering as they seemed to break Scythe hyperdiction in 16.1 - so breaking Titans in 16.1 as well would make more sense to me)

This wasn't a change in Update 16.
From the 15.02 release notes:

  • Slight adjustments have been made the tactics used by various Thargoid vessels, so that they don't become ineffective at dealing with targets in locations that ship won't willingly navigate such as the crevasses along the structure of a Titan.

Thargoid behaviour at the Titan sites changed after U16.
I've tried going at the Titan after U16.1 too, but I haven't seen any changes.

Hardly the first time a change listed in the release notes didn't actually get included in the release build, but it definitely matches the change in behaviour. So the changes had probably been checked in but whoever made the final build didn't use up-to-date source code.

Could this be the case? IDK... hope Fdev will give us some feedback.

Titan does seem to aggro a lot easier - it went to red just from me approaching, and the interceptors seemed bothered from further away. Still seems possible to play hide and seek, but I can't see it as possible to hand around the Titan for hours like before.

Weird that they've now nerfed the Glaive and buffed the Titan and ignored both these things in Galnet and the patch notes. fdev eh ;)

Titan behavior has changed due to new narrative: Truth About the Vanishing. Check in-game for new logs on your coms, if not check the forum thread here with the same title.

Maybe it was changed because it was silly?

I mean going under 20% heat never meant the ship is invisible for Interceptors.
It only made them miss their shots if the cold ship was moving above a certain speed threshold and on a vector that was not heading directly towards their cannons

Always fun when ppl would rather argue that fdev put bugs into the game rather than accept that fdev just moved the story on :D Ned was doing the same earlier :ROFLMAO:

I came here to post the same question. I haven’t been to a Titan since U16 until today. Previously I could hang out in my cold Anaconda without drawing any aggro. Today was a very different story.

With this thread i just wanted to raise the awareness on the issue. Hope Fdev sees it and does their investigation. I have no problem if this is an intended change, but if it is, it must be mentioned on the lore, there must be a storyline that justify this deep change... I mean, i keep getting detected from interceptors at 3.5 km away while i'm running silent, just because i show up in their line of sight, this is not how thargoid works... i mean, when do they have developed eyes?

Oh, that's sad. I had much fun flying there in my extra-cold dolphin and sneaking up to the Titan for tissue sampling. It had a bit of those "let's shut down everything so they can't scan us" SciFi-vibes in contrast to the boring shoot'em up super-engineered killer-machine combat stuff that is almost everything Thargoid now.

This is a bit ridicolous fdev dont you think, what is even the point of having cold running ship. You are beter of taking corvete with max haul toughnes, tank all the damage gather what you need end reloging the game so you are kicked to egge of the melstrom after loging back. Congratulations on ruining good gamepley
