Hi Chaps,

I'm rather far off from a Python to be honest. I've got a Lakon 7 and since yesterday have made 4 million (which I will be donating to Kappa and the Onionhead Farmers Jazz Quartet or whatever they are called). I've earned everything by fair play. No exploits. No cheats. I did start off with a nice backers Cobra and a free Eagle but that's it. I've explored, traded, hunted, never stolen from any NPC or PC I have met and only ever smuggled for a bit of an edge to the game.

So I hope that folk who my Python (oh er) it don't think there goes another cad!

In fact I hope they think; "well done that chap. He's playing fair, just like me."

Any one else, having a great time playing fair with great tales to tell?

Yes I do have a founders passs and I've never bothered with the 10% cheat there or any others. Waste of a game. Why back a game and then ruin it?

Seems a lot of kick starters are now getting into their pythons and anacondas in the last day or so. Seems so many of them are about now, where as before hardly any. Quick look at the local traffic tells the tale.

Yet those of us that don't have a founders pass and have been playing religiously since 16 Dec. still are a long way sort of getting in one lol

But yeah, if you've managed to magically get all that cash so soon, fair play.

I started quickly but have dropped off the pace since picking up an Asp. I'll probably reach a Python in a few months at this rate, but I figure that by then at least I'll know how to fly.

He said he'd just got his type 7, so a way off the Python yet. But not that far - easy to make 1.5m an hour doing simple trading in the Type 7, so only 35 odd hours game play to the Python

As for the "magical" dig. I did by my Python yesterday. It's not magic, just putting the hours in - I've been off work since the 17th, so at least 10 hours a day since then on average (given I played a lot less over xmas). That and being a backer meant I had a couple of weeks of more casual play during gamma to get a bit ahead. Back to work tomorrow though, so real life will descend again :/

About 4 to 8 hours a day, plus built a spread sheet of about 200 black markets and a rare commodities route and lots of pen and paper. OCD has it's perks at times. Plus I play a lot of hard strategy games to completion. Elite Dangerous suits me perfectly (except the bugs etc.) Good luck!

So I guess my point is, the fair players will flock together. Ignore, Invites, Blocking Players, Report Players and Private groups will make it so. We can create our Happy Town play arena and banish those we choose to ignore to a Griefers hell.

I guess I'm building a nest egg of insurance before I join mulitplayer where I can zip about in a cobra with plenty of PvE and PvP action with like minded chaps. Now that will make the grind well worth while.

I'm not a long way off a Python but I'm not in possession of a founders pass. There are quite a few members I know here who believe are legit and one of them is in a Python and I believe an anaconda. HeavyGrooves is one example.

Anyone exploiting will get their accounts corrected. Once the fix is announced we'll know anyone in Pythons etc are legit. It's not a big deal

I wiped my save a few days after 16th, I'd made too much money exploit-mining and rare trading before it all got balanced.

Decided I'd specialise in bounty hunting, as I'd always avoided combat where poss and the vids looked fun.

I've fought my way from a freagle to a viper with gimballed beams and c2 multicannons, plus a few other upgrades. It's been a blast - no one's killed me yet but I've had a few close escapes. I've just in the last 2 days managed to kill a couple of NPC pythons, a clipper and 3 anacondas (they were all certified cads). I've taken my first pirate lord mission cos I've managed to get some shield cells and feel a little safer, but I'm expecting a tough fight.

Don't see the point getting a bigger ship than this tbh - if I can kill all the others, or run if I need to, and have such cheap repairs why upgrade?

Started with a Sidey (still have it!) and the Eagle but currently run a Cobra and a Viper as I believe these ships are complimentary not rivals, total worth 3.5 mil or so miles away from a Phython but I earned my cash through cargo missions, mining, exploring a bit of everything really except pirating.

The important thing is to play the game for fun, after all there is no end game or campaign to finish just play it a level you enjoy.

Gamma backer here, never exploited and have just made my first million. Have mined, explored, traded, done missions and a spot of bounty hunting. Have gone from Sidewinder to Hauler to Adder and am now in a Cobra. Have never visited the Founders System and never traded in Rares.

And my response to this apparent increase in Pythons (I'm that far out I don't see much of any type of ship)? I don't care.

I don't feel like I've missed out on anything and I don't feel under any pressure to play in a certain way, or to achieve goals imposed by others in a race to the biggest bank balance or biggest ship. At the start of the Christmas Holidays I had just bought my Cobra and had 63k in cash. My goal was to get up to 1 million by the time I go back to work. Now I've done that its time for me to come up with another goal - might go back to exploring. Might go visits Lave for old times sake (already been through Sol). Haven't decided yet.

The only goals I play towards are ones I set myself - that way I get to play the game on my terms - which is how I feel the game is intended.

Getting a python is only the beginning. Updates get costly at that point. Depending on your taste one weapon system alone costs more then a type 7 with some updates

I'm 3mill off getting my type 7 now, totally legitimate farming rares, can't wait to get a python but it is a big grind away still, started bounty hunting in extraction sites from a sidewinder to a viper 4 days ago, then started farming rares for the last 3 days, to go from a base viper to a heavily kitted out asp currently making around 1.5-2mill every 3 hours in the asp, and i'm pretty sure there are even faster ways to make more that I haven't learned yet?

Cuttently in a Lakon 6 (KS Cobra and Freagle in storage) Doing Rare Commodities trading to work my way up to an Asp, and eventually a Python and/or Lakon 9
I think I shall name my Python "Siphon"
