Hi new to the game

Hello All

As the title says im new to the game and the forums just need to ask a question this may not be the place to ask but hey im new what can i say.

Pre oredered the game 4 days ago and as ive seen on the forums there seems to be some confusion as to if people who pre order the game have access to the gamma, was hoping to be playing by the 22nd of november and the way it seems to me i wont be until the 16th of december so i thought about upgrading from the £35 mercenary edition to the beta edition was just wondering is this worth doing now as its so close to release date is there any real benefit to me getting this other than playing the game now or should i just wait till december and also if i decide to upgrade how do i do that there seems to be no upgrade button on the store or my account page dont really want to pay out £50 on top of what ive already paid or will it just take what it needs too the £15 extra ?

Sorry if i posted this in the wrong place and if this has been asked before i realise i should do a search first but needed a quick answer as im waiting to make a choice now as if to buy the upgrade or not.

I wouldn't bother upgrading, not at this late stage. There is some talk that you might get in on the gamma, but I can't confirm that. You haven't got long to wait, anyway, so you should be playing it over Christmas

If you want to play now and be part of the Alpha then yeah by all means upgrade, if not then wait until Dec 16th.

From what I understand, the discount automatically appears once you get to the checkout.

I would wait. The only reason we are all here is cos we couldnt. I could of waited 14 days if thats all it was. Unless its not 22nd. Who knows

I think you would have a better experience if you wait.

Or if you think £15 for 2 - 6 weeks practice is worth it, then go for it.

But remember, your stats will be wiped and you will have to start again at the 22nd anyway.

Thanks for the quick response guys you given me some things to think about but i think it was cody said wait till monday to see if things are cleared up in the gamma access debate its not too late to make a choice then.

If cash is king for you, wait it out. You'll be able to play ED for years to come if you choose to, a few weeks/months will make very little difference. Too many cmdrs I read here are already suffering beta burnout touting "bored with x, y, z..." to the rafters. Ignore them and remember, sometimes less is more.

I'm in, more or less, the same boat mate. I haven't been able to scrape the funds together for the Beta (I know, I'm a right tightarse)... But promised myself I would get the Pre-Order so I can get it on the day.

I don't see the point of paying £15 extra to have more practice when everyone will be starting from Zilch anyway. (Which is fair).

Each to their own I guess, but I've been having fun reading around about the BETA and watching Youtube videos anyway.

Been doing the same myself reading what i can on the forums and watching ALOT of vids on youtube especially Cmdr kerrash, this is the norm for me i always try to research a game before i play been gaming for sometime even as far back as the original game but i admit i never played it myself and dont really know much of the lore but i look forward to finding it all out.
