Hidden details/hints for the future dlc

Hey everyone. Today I wanted to discuss animals that are not in the game but are mentioned.
While we have had leopard signs since the beginning, we only recently got our first leopard.
There are dromedary camel scenery pieces.
On the conservation boards in particular our new ones, several animals get named. Wisents and sea otters appear on the Species Reintroduction.
Iberian Lynx was mentioned on the Population Fragmentation which led us to speculation but we ended up with the Eurasian Lynx.
Mountain yellow frog in the Amphibian extinction crisis
There are also butterfly’s and bird signs.
Now this doesn’t mean they will be included, could they be mentioned as a teaser for what’s to come or just good examples of subjects.
Anyone spot another animal that I have not?

Deer statues. But I am not so sure we will be getting those species. I would rather get Père David’s deer rather than red deer because of the conservation value.
I think we can count on Dromedary too but it’s not essential for me.

Sometimes scenery is just scenery.

I really don't know why everyone is so sure we're getting a dromedary. The two "clues" we have are an animal sign from the base game (which, like many of the animal signs from the base game hasn't actually reflected an animal in the game - other examples include the black rhinoceros sign, howler monkey sign, red deer scenery, etc.), and some decorative signs from the Africa Pack (in this case, the theme was 'North Africa', where camels are culturally important - of course there would be camel signs).

I understand about the conservation value, but i prefer the red deer because i think is more versatile and has a wider range (obviously). Although if i have to choose one deer species to get in the game i think i would rather go with either the elk or the chital.
Dromedary has to come at some point. Not only a very common zoo animal but also one that is invasive in Australia and that will give some rep to the Middle East.
I think there are some black rhino signs as well and honestly is weird not having an official one by the end of dev support. They are not as common as white rhinos in zoos i think but i think of the rhinos left is the one that is more popular with the general public.
Doubt will get another lynx, as beautiful and endangered the iberian lynx is i think when we consider that we basically have almost no small cat in the game there are other priorities such as the ocelot, caracal, serval, palla's cat and fishing cat... and even if they do add another lynx then it should be an american species either a bobcat or a canadian lynx, not another european one.
I really have no interest in wisent, even though their conservation story is an important one currently, with their reintroduction taking place across Europe currently.

And i think there is also some dodo and sloth scenery as well. I think we can ignore the dodo... but of course everyone and their mother have been screaming to get a sloth in the game at some point so that one is somewhat likely if they figure out a good way to implement it into the game.

And then, like NZ said, sometimes scenery is just that. No secret meaning behind it. Or even species that were later scrapped.

The only way I could see us getting some of these animals mentioned above depends on how many more dlc packs are planned for the future. I believe someone once mentioned there were 3-4 left which if that would give us 2 left I believe. Now this is all hypothetical as no one knows for sure except frontier. But this is the only way I see getting these remaining animals is one pack is deserts, and one forests. One is a animal pack and one is a regular based on the way the dlc is implemented. The forest pack being rainforest, temperate, boreal, ect. This would give you the red deer, howler, and even perhaps the sloth. The desert would obviously give you the dromedary and black rhino. Black rhinos being well adapted to the deserts of Namibia. But this is strictly hypothetical. Of course these two packs would also open the door to many other heavily requested animals as well. The Tasmanian devil, Hamadryas baboon, maned wolf as their habitat varies from dry and wet forests as well as open Savannah. But like I said just a scenario basically.

So I agree as y’all have said that scenery is scenery and doesn’t guarantee anything.
I just find it odd when there are scenic pieces of animals that aren’t in game and speculators such as us often take any clues we can get.

I think when the base game was launched they just had random animal decorations without giving much actual thought to it and how they would reflect what’s in the game.
You're probably right, but I can't help but think the artists behind the scenery were given a list of animals to create scenery for ("camel", "elephant", "crocodile/alligator", "monkey") and did that, but the list wasn't actually finished yet so the scenery didn't quite match up.

(As a side note, can you believe the elephant signs are still labelled wrong after all this time?).

Im so sure because a desert pack withlut ut would be really weird.
I expect a desert pack so i expect a dromedary

I mean...that's fair enough but there's no real reason to expect a 'desert pack' either. We don't know what the next theme will be. I know everyone is still on the 'biomes' train but that never actually left the station. 'Wetlands' could easily be a one-off, especially since it was followed by 'Conservation'.

It could be anything, thats true, but it isnt unrealistic at all.
While everything is possible, from all the possible biome packs, the desert seems the most likly or atleast the most needed, while the middle east is one of the last regions that sounds like a good region pack.

If you told me that theres a leak for a desert animal pack in fall with the dromedary as its headliner i wouldnt have a hard time believing you.
Adding animals like a porcupine, emu and a peccary you got a great 4+1, adding any other 3 animals like the hamadryas baboon, caracal, sand cat, perentie, addax, big horn sheep or whatever else will make for a very diverse pack with both popular and surprise picks, aswell as some "easier to make" animals.

If we get another year of support, i would bet 100% we get a desert pack, but even with 2 it isnt unlikly.

I can’t really imagine desert pack without Dromedary, Striped hyena and Caracal
Striped hyena seems like more a long shot. It doesn't feature very highly on the wishlist so it isn't super popular, and it doesn't have a ton of conservation value. I'd say your African wild donkey is more likely for such a pack.
