Hidden message from unknown objects?

I've just finished exploring the new thargoid superstructure, and after gathering the probe, artefact and link, taking them to space and testing stuff out I found that when all three are together that only the artefact speaks to the link (and the link replys) but the probe never does, when I took the artefact back the probe spoke, this time the link responded differently, then I took the probe in and played the audio message and the link replied differently again (tried three times with each combo and identical responses for each), I was gonna post a video up to show but when I did this I thought I had hit the record button...nope...
But I feel like there's another hidden message there if we link the three sounds together?

It would be really bizarre if these unknown things turned out to be little more that the Thargoid equivalent of a memo-voice-recorder!

And yes, I think there probably is something somewhere in the (4?) different audio sounds. Or the direction each of them point. Since the probe points to Merope and the Probe to another system has anyone checked to see if the link triangulates another system?

The link spits out narrow beam octal data streams. There are three found in response to the recordings you get from the unknown device. We have been trying to figure it out for roughly a day now.
