HIgh Grade Emissions Farming

Hiya all, trying to get some grade 4 & 5 materials by trying to spawn HGE.

I need some Heat Vanes and Proto Heat Radiators. I know to look in Economic Boom systems, preferably with a high population. (Not sure what counts as high, guessing billions).

I spent hours looking for them last night in a couple of boom systems without any spawning.

If anyone has any tips for a good way of spawning them or a good system, I’d be most grateful. The RNG God has always been displeased with me it would seem...

I was running into the same problem .

I filtered my galaxy map to boom systems only and just jumped around, used my scanner to look for signal sources. Eventually you will find them..

Can't be much more of a help.

I agree the spawn rate is way to low though.

Yah, but he's not realy cheap regarding exchange rates.
I can't find any HGEs either, my home system used to spawn quite a lot of them but I haven't found a single one yet.
Same goes for Combat Aftermaths, they used to have good materials but nowadays it's only black boxes with a voice narated request to retrieve them.

Many of the states are still None, this could be a big factor. I've been hunting them as well, and finding that their frequency has dropped to the point, that Material Traders are your best bet.

Sad, I used to enjoy hunting them down, would fly 100KLs from the Primary Star and slowly make my way back in. Using this method (before 3.3), I was able to fill the coffers without too much trouble.

As for the Combat Aftermaths, what a joke! What happened to jump in, find materials and leave. I just avoid them now, I really don't want to go on a mission. I want Mats. Also, Combat Aftermath (Threat 1) are the ONLY ones you find. I think a few things need fixing still.

Hi Angel,

1. Do you know that the HGEs are currently persistent until the timer runs out whereby you can menu log, immediately go into supercruise and the HGE will appear as an USS behind you?
2. Because of the persistence, a 25 minute timer can sometimes garner you 100 of that HGE if you use limpets.
3. I find using the material trader to be a more efficient use of time than searching for particular system states. This way time is spent scooping mats rather than searching. Military Grade Alloys and Core Dynamics Composites are plentiful. 72 equal 12 proto heat radiators.
4. When using the mat trader, try not to trade diagonally.

Yeah I’ve been to a Mat Broker a lot. Trouble is the exchange rate for grade 4 & 5 mats are awful. But if there’s a good way to get a lot of a grade 5 mat and exchange- I don’t know about it.

On Inara I noticed that some Material Traders have there type listed as Manufactured/Raw. But when I’ve been in that system & on the station listed, they only deal in Manufactured materials. I had hoped to get some by exchanging Raw materials- but I guess that’s not possible?

Booms and investment states are starting to appear now
They were all set to none when the patch dropped - and the larger systems need quite a push

I am having trouble finding Pharmaceutical Isolators been to every system that eddb list as outbreak when I go to jump there it says something else out of the 6 it listed one was in outbreak returned many times through the day not one HG spawn I know mat trader yeah yeah more concerned with do they even spawn or whats up lol

If the system you're searching has a nav beacon, just scan it and it will populate your navigation panel with all signal sources so you can see at a glance how many HGE there are. If there aren't any then just move on to the next system.

When you get there you have to confirm that the system is still in outbreak and high population, most are no longer in outbreak and eddb is out of date as 3.3 rest the states of most systems...
Like boom state and high population systems were reset so has the others...

I just discovered today what Torrigwynt stated above, just scan the Nav Beacon when you drop into the system and it will identify every type of USS everywhere in the system and also give you the countdown time so you know how long you have to get to the USS to farm it.

HGE farming is not very useful right now unfortunately, mainly because of the recent BGS changes there are only a few states in any given system. I was looking for Outbreak systems, for example (for Pharmaceutical Isolators), there are none. I could farm Imperial Shielding in imperial systems, and Proto Heat Radiators but nothing more. If I went to War systems, there have been no High Grade Emissions at all. I quickly got bored of the search. There's no diversity in system states right now and that affects the spawning of a lot of G5 materials.

I jumped in to a dual state system the controlling faction was in boom but there was a civil war also present this altered the HGE from BOOM to civil war items...
So two states can counter each other...

So boom system with a war as well will alter the HGE to war items...

Proto Heat Radiators: HGE-USS in BOOM systems, high-population (over 1 million), better chance in Independent or Alliance systems.
Heat Vanes can be farmed at Dav's Hope, can also sometimes be found at Combat Aftermath USS in shipping lanes of Anarchy systems and by destroying "haulage" ships at RES in those systems. I suggest Dav's Hope.

If looking for HGE-USS and none appear immediately when you enter and HONK a system, fly out a bit and start turning circles around the star as USS continue to spawn more or less randomly.

Only Combat Aftermaths I can find are 1, which sends me looking for a black box. How are you managing to find non-threat level 1?
